Today's meeting

For today's online front-end meeting at noon, let's continue the discussion we started last week about asset libraries in Drupal8, then share ideas about front-end best practices.

If you plan to join, please sign up by 10:00 a.m., because that's when I'll send out the link.

JS Libraries

bdanin's picture

Sorry to have missed this meeting; any updates that might be posted about best ways to include JS libraries? I know there are various front-end tools like grunt, npm, webpack, and bundler. Also, composer.json can provide packages, but the syntax to store the library in a specific location can be tricky.

When is it best to use a front-end package manager such as webpack vs. PHP's coposer.json?

Any other notes of interest from the meeting?

Third-party JS libraries

We talked a bit about how to add third-party JavaScript libraries, but only about externally hosted ones. I would definitely like to discuss methods of including local third-party JS libraries.
