Joomla seems prevalent in many Pacific Island countries as the CMS of choice. I have seen it popular especially in the Cook Islands where most government ministries and private sector run Joomla based websites. In Fiji, there is also a good number of Joomla websites. Here in the Solomon Islands, the uptake of CMS is relatively slower although many people are beginning to appreciate the power of CMS systems. Statistically, I have no empirical evidence to claim the popularity of any particular CMS deployed in the Solomon Islands. However, I could perhaps guess that it is an even split. Joomla is used here in the Solomon Islands as does Drupal.
What can Drupal Pacifica do to enhance the appeal of Drupal within the region? Hold, Drupal events or a Pacific-centric DrupalCon?
I think one of the appeal of Joomla is its user friendly interface, something which Drupal, in my opinion, still lags behind BUT having seen both CMS - I believe Drupal has an upper hand in its power, versatility and usefulness.
I am welcoming ideas.
