Making Drupal API-first means making the power and flexibility of the Drupal that we love available over HTTP APIs. In so doing, Drupal will be able to power ambitious applications of all kinds, from behind-the-scenes systems written in languages like Python, PHP, Java or Go to beautifully rendered experiences using the latest frontend frameworks, like React, Vue and Ember (to name a few). If it speaks HTTP, it should work with Drupal.
API-first Weekly Meeting: 4 June 2019
Discussion will be in the #contenta channel on drupal.slack.com.
You can add anything you'd like to discuss ahead of time here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19CMuD6uUJ97U8fDwtMhZw_CCet_vd-AQfwXN...
We'll keep minutes and notes in that document.
Looking forward to talking with you!
Read moreCall for help: Research and lead the implementation of JSON:API 1.1
The JSON:API v1.1 RC1 (specification) has been published for some time. I would really like for Drupal to be one of the early adopters. This version of the spec won't be finalized until there are two compliant implementations. We ought to be one of them :)
This is the call for help:
Would someone (maybe many?) like to take the lead on researching, documenting and then implementing the changes we'll need to make in order to adopt v1.1 of the JSON:API spec?

Discuss whether it makes sense to keep this meeting and agree on alternative, if not.

Hey all, I just put up a new module on d.o (still in dev) which enhances the DX of using JSON:API with comments. (I promise that this is the last time I'll spam you today!)
You can find the module here: https://www.drupal.org/project/jsonapi_comment
I'd love to get your feedback, particularly to the idea of requiring the JSON:API Hypermedia module and the way hypermedia is used.
Read moreProposal: cancel scheduled weekly meeting in favor of weekly discussion on groups.drupal.org
Title pretty much says it all.
I'd like to cancel the API-First weekly meeting and replace it with ongoing discussions here on groups.drupal.org. When it seems necessary to have a live discussion, we can always schedule one as needed.
I think it's very difficult for all the interested parties to be available for the weekly meeting and often it has to be cancelled at the last minute because e0ipso, Wim Leers or myself aren't available.
Finally, we have no record of the discussions in those meetings and I feel that things often get forgotten.
Does anyone object?
