I have informed management that I will leave my position at the end of July. They have posted the position at:
https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/iowa/jobs/2769300/information-tec...
I have been in the position for five and a half years and enjoy the work and people I work with.
In my position, I do not perform PHP development. We have an external source for those technical needs.
The eight sites I maintain are hosed on Acquia which makes maintenance of the environment easier.
All sites are currently on Drupal 7. Migrating to Drupal 8/9 is one of the future tasks.
I have been a one person Drupal division for some time. Major tasks have been bringing up new sites and redesigning current sites. There has been a lot of CSS work.
Code base building is done with drush make functionality. The code base is built and then checked into Acquia with GIT. Command line GIT knowledge is needed. I learned it here.
The Acquia environment is hosted on Amazon Web Services. It offers Dev, Test and Production environments with a graphical interface to copy between each. I have not copied to Prod.
Acquia also offers Developers Desktop which lets me copy any of those environments to my local desktop and I can play with things there with easy access to the file system for probing and testing without affecting the codebase. i can perform tasks with text processors and graphical file system access rather than command line.
Acquia also offers a Live Dev environment which allows me to easily probe and tweak through command line to access the code base while the Dev or Test environment is available to browser access.
My local server for building code bases and updating GIT repositories (theme and such) is accessed through command line to the Linux environment.
The sites I work on are

Most of them are connected to employment and career planing. It is satisfying to offer information that helps people get jobs and plan careers.
The office is located on Grand Avenue across from the State Capitol.

Excellent job description
Hi,
This is most useful job description I have ever read. Thanks for being so comprehensive and transparent in your description of what you do and how. I will look at how I can do similarly when I need to post information about job openings in my own area.
Yours,
Christian
