Member Platform is a community initiative seeking to help organizations such as clubs, associations, meetup groups, and nonprofits reach their full potential. In other words, "Drupal for Good"!
Mission
To leverage Drupal to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of membership organizations globally, especially those with low technical or financial resources, so that they can positively impact their communities and to build an open and welcoming community of individuals united in their passion for serving membership organizations through Drupal.
Vision
To provide a Drupal-native ecosystem of secure, privacy-enhancing, integrated, beautiful, and user-friendly tools that initially can meet many of the operational needs of at least 80% of membership organizations globally that have zero to five staff members (including all-volunteer organizations) and to facilitate the existence of (but not implement) affordable turnkey software-as-a-service solutions to empower membership organizations to more immediately and sustainably benefit the communities they serve.
Okay, okay, but what is it???
Long-term, think DrupalCMS + lightweight CRM + membership (dues) management + event registration + communication management + campaign management + more.
You might compare it to the plethora of Association Management Software (AMS) solutions out there, but simple, free, and open-source.
Collaboration in the Drupal community
We've had great discussions with some existing Drupal projects, including CRM, Event Platform, and Campaign Kit. We'd love to learn about how your favorite project could fit in! We also hope to see you at DrupalCon Atlanta next month.
When can I use it?
Well, that depends on volunteers, which we need in force to bring this to life in a timely fashion. We are in need of all sorts of volunteers, but especially those with the following skill sets (for which we don't have existing volunteers): design, marketing, user experience, and accessibility.
