Hi all,
Does anyone have experience with installing Ubercart 2.0 on Drupal 6.0 to sell file downloads? I'm 95% of the way to having my cart up and running (SSL, payment gateways, shipping quotes, product classes and attributes, etc. are all working)
The thing that's holding me back is setting up the part that says: "Hurray! You bought files, here's the download link: " Right now the user pays for files, but there's no way for them to get the download.
I've looked on drupal.org, the ubercart site, and Google, but all I've found are tutorials that skip the step where you actually set up the Conditional Actions that make this happen. I've tried muddling through the UI on my own, but I must be missing something because it's just not working the way I'd expect.
Could someone point me to a good resource for setting this up? Or if you were willing to mentor me for a few minutes on the phone, or a few emails, I'd be grateful. I'd even be willing to write it up for Drupal docs so the next guy wouldn't have to struggle with this one.
Thanks!
Syne

I thought there was a module...
I thought there was an Ubercart file download module that handled this?

The file download module takes care of this, you have to add the feature to the Ubercart product, and once you buy the product, the download appears on the user's page (/user) I believe...
Not so simple, actually
Installing the File Download module and setting up the feature on the product was easy. But There's this step where you have to set up Conditional Actions to make it go. And they are, shall we say, not completely intuitive. This video helped me get to mostly working. http://blip.tv/file/1757864
I just have a few little clean up things to figure out. For example, I'd like folks to be redirected immediately after purchase to a page with a download link, instead of receiving it in the mail or having to go to their profile page.
Got it working!
Hurrah! Figured out the trick with Conditional Actions, and now my credit card test gateway is doing all it should. I just sent the cart out to my testing volunteers and life is good.
can you help
Hi
i read the thread here, and i'm happy for you that everything solved, but for me, im new with ubercart.
want to build a site that sell photos online. I am really lost :( i read a tutorial a about ubercart, it helped me very little as the tutorial i read is about selling real products but i want is like you did, selling digital things (i.e. photos).
can you please, give me the steps i need to do this, along with ssl and everything, pleasssssssssssssssssse.
you can email me if you want and if you have time of course and mentor me.
my site should do the following:
it is like anysite that sell photos,
1- photos should appear to the use in grid view.
2- the user can preview the photo, the photo should be watermarked. (i think there is a module that do watermarking)
3- the user select the photo he wants to buy, pay for it, then he get provided with the link to download the NON watermarked photo
please if you don't have time to teach me how to do all this, help me in part of it.
you can email me if you want or chat with me.
my email is patistuta@gmail.com
thank you in advance
