We've all been talking about this for a while and we're not totally done but there has been some interest expressed in getting access to our work in progress.

Openflows Community Technology Lab and Manhattan Neighborhood Network have decided to give the pegspace and drupal community an alpha release of the MNN reservation module which will be one of the building blocks of the larger PEGspace project.

After long discussions, it was decided that we will release this here for now, and only when it is further along will we upload it to the drupal cvs repository and have it listed on the modules page.

This decision is partly based on the fact that the module requires a lot of other setup in order to work and is in some functions very specific to MNN at the moment.

The tarball is available here:
http://emma.openflows.com/pegspace_reservations-4.7-0.3-alpha.tar.gz

This module provides:

  • Check out of equipment and facilities with or without prior reservation
  • Scheduling, editing, and cancellation of reservations, with budget adjustments for 'prime time' and weekend discounts.
  • Daily lists of what is due in, and what is reserved in each inventory, with penalties for late returns.
  • Daily reservation grid chart for facilities reservations.
  • Equipment dependency relationships show up automatically in reservation form process (e.g. a camera depends on a battery).

In order to function, the following drupal modules must be installed:

  • cck_field_perms
  • civicrm
  • civicrmdata
  • civinode
  • coders_widgets
  • collapsiblock
  • computed_field
  • contemplate
  • content
  • content_type_reference
  • date
  • devel
  • dynamicload
  • event
  • event_views
  • eventrepeat
  • fieldgroup

  • userpoints_transaction_tools
  • userreference
  • views

Several CCK types and taxonomy terms are required for this code to function. We will be posting a database dump that will allow you to create the necessary types and categories.

Anyone working towards using this module in a PEG environment will be given limited access to our web-based development server so you can poke around and see how the different parts interact.
