How do you transfer ownership of a group?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I have an old user account which is the owner of a group and I would like to transfer ownership to my new account. The My Subscription page lends a clue with the message:

You may not unsubscribe from this group because you are its owner. A site administrator can assign ownership to another user and then you may unsubscribe.

I have made my new account an admin in the group, yet no new options appear to transfer ownership. Surely there is a way to accomplish this.

You might get a faster response if you actually told people what you wanted done. I assume the group is SXSW Interactive 2007, the old account is samuraispy and the new account is Aaron Stanush@drupal.org, but it took me quite some time to guess that.

SXSW 2007 is over. We should either archive that group (it gets removed from the listings) or we should rename it to something current.

Yes, archive the group. That's exactly what I want to happen. Thanks for your help!

to transfer ownership of a group to another member, you need to edit the main group page and assign new author to that page.

in other words, the author of the group page is the group manager.
