Start:
2010-04-19 11:00 - 12:00 America/Los_Angeles Event type:
DrupalCon
There will be a RDFa, Semantic Web and Distributed Social Networks BoF on Monday the 19th at 11am room 200. If you are interested please come and be ready to talk.
I will be demoing some of the work that has been done (by others!) that integrates WebIDs with Drupal. This is the first step in creating a global, decentralized network. Really cool stuff.
I will also be talking about RDFa in general and vocabs and what you can expect with the upcoming Drupal 7 release.
And of course everyone who attends is welcome to add to the discussion!
Cheers,
David

Thanks for the Notes
David, thanks for pulling some notes together from the discussions. I am sure there are others like me out there that are highly interested in all things RDFa, semantic web etc. relating to Drupal, that could not make the trip to Drupalcon.
Cheers,
Neil

I'll be doing a presentation on a similar topic at the end of DrupalCon on Wed at 4.15pm: The story of RDF in Drupal 7 and what it means for the Web at large.
Moving forward
David, thank you for posting those notes! I just messaged Damien to let him know I'm interested in helping push the foafssl module forward. I'm bummed I missed your BOF. I'm interested to know what you have been working on and how you see this initiative moving forward. If there is anything I can do to help push this along I would love to help out.
Scor, good job on your presentation! It was nice meeting you at DrupalCon.

Just noticed your reply, sorry for the delay in my reply.
Yes, too bad we didn't meet at Drupalcon, but thanks for replying to this message.
Have you heard anything from Damien about working on the FOAF+SSL module? There is a lot of movement in that space right now in the Semantic Web community, specifically from Henry Story (bblfish). The public name will be WebId and you can then tie your WebId to an SSL cert to get the whole ball rolling.
I have been working with (but not seriously until now) Semantic Web tech for years now. Lately though the pieces are really coming together. Right now I am specifically interested in large scale triple stores and graph database engines working behind Drupal 7.
What is your interest with SemWeb?
