Is anyone aware of an existing module that allows marking an edit as 'minor,' preventing its updated time from updating so that it won't pop to the top of lists sorted by last-updated?
I found requests for this, but no reference to anything more elegant than adding a CCK field to use in sorting, which really doesn't do what I have in mind. I've written it up for use on the site I needed it for - if there's nothing else like it out there, is it worth uploading?
Includes a 'mark minor edits' permission and an admin form to toggle which content types permit them.

I don't know of any such
I don't know of any such module. Go for it.
I notice that Wikipedia used to have a checkbox for this, but no longer. Does anyone know how they do it now? Maybe they automatically toggle it depending on if a certain number of characters have changed since the last edit…?

I like it
I could use this when archiving old forum threads so they don't get marked as updated just because I moved them. Or when promoting/demoting something.

This sounds like a great idea
I would expand the usage of this in terms of notifications - a minor edit will not set the update it of the module and will also not send notifications on the node update.
