Thanks to @bmann I came across a really great post from Morten Just on using the new Google Draw for wireframing, (and @chrisstrahl for reminding me to post this up to the group). He's created a bunch of templates and stencils and shared them publicly so anyone can use them. I have been trying it out for a set of wireframes I've been working on this week, and it's actually pretty good. I've been using Mockingbird (http://gomockingbird.com) a lot lately, and I'm not sure if I've been swayed one way or the other quite yet, but if people keep sharing templates on the GDraw, we could end up with quite the library of templates.

The post with links to the shared templates is here: http://mortenjust.com/2010/04/19/a-wireframe-kit-for-google-drawings/

Thanks for sharing, that's pretty awesome. I'm a big fan of Google Docs and it's really cool to see it being used in this way. I don't know that I would be able to make the switch from OmniGraffle just yet, but I will certainly try it out on my next project.

Thanks, and here are some more links I came across

Thanks for sharing, I've had fun playing around this weekend. I'm looking forward to trying it out on our next project.

Here are a few other interesting links I thought I'd share.

wow that smashing mag article

wow that smashing mag article is intense! i have to say, if i was going for offline and non-free (web) wireframing tools, i do really like the omnigraffle tool sets, but i have just been tending towards preferring online tools lately, and willing to sacrifice some visual detail quality for it!

Google Docs and Google Drawings

Hey, I love Google docs and use Google Drawings for Wire-frames. Being on the cloud, easy to access be it home or office. Awesome to share and work on the same document.

Go Mockingbird

I subscribed for some time the Protoshare service but, since I discovered gomockingbird I didn't need anything else, wireframes wise. In fact, it's my opinion that most clients enjoy better the simplicity it provides against the bells and whistles of more complex systems.

Great stuff everyone, thanks

Great stuff everyone, thanks a lot. I've been doing everything in a browser lately, even when I need a shell.

Balsamiq Mockup

We at Telamenta love using Balsamiq Mockup . It is so fast and easy to create mockups, plus the cartoon style is gorgeous.
