A hosting account...
any word on putting together a web site... I can host it and put it together if no one volunteers, but I am a little pressed for time at the moment.
I wish I had time too to work
I wish I had time too to work on these things. Vince what do you think this website should do? I would like to help if I get time.
Count me in for May's meetup.

DrupalCamp Miami website
I can volunteer the name for the site: DrupalCampMiami.org (I registered it after the last meetup).
I have also been in contact with the Latin Americans that I met at DrupalCon San Francisco. I am keeping them posted on our plan to have DrupalCamp Miami in November, and many have already told me that they would be interested in attending.

Hola
Just saw this. For some reason, can't get notifications or RSS feed to work here on g.d.o.
I've also got DrupalMiami.com and .org.
I promised to write up a kind of mission/vision statement, and I promise to have that soon.

Time deadline
Carol, the official response is that the elevators shut off at 6pm but in fact it seems they work until much later. You can arrive whenever you want. We'll probably still be going til 8pm. - Robertson

Sweet
Nice writeup. Wish I could be there tonight!

How'd the meetup go?
Apparently, my presence wasn't meant to be.
Traffic was so damn intense, coming off the 95. Then, in gridlock, my car battery died, right in front of 200 Biscayne. 6PM in that area is no fun at all. At all.
This is where I was several jumps later: http://picasaweb.google.com/davenotik/CarTrouble_52610#5476016985380633282
I finally made it home, my evening's plans killed.

Minutes from May
Hello,
Sorry I didn't make it to the last meetup. Can anyone post minutes or notes from what was discussed? Any agenda for June's meetup. I would really like to see some demos of projects people are working on, or some type of skill share to make the meetup a learning experience.
Thanks,
Erik
Meetup Synopsis
Erik,
We spent most of the meetup talking about DrupalCamp Miami, and then we went around the table to all the first time attendees so they could tell us what they wanted to get out of the group.
Below are some of the items discussed regarding DrupalCamp Miami:
Hector
June Meetup
I think it's great that conference calls are taking place to help organize the DrupalCamp Miami. I feel that most of the organizing for the DrupalCamp Miami might want to take place outside of the monthly meetup, because it's a lot of work and could consume all of our meetups until the date of the camp. I'd like to attract others to the monthly meetup by having an agenda that is beyond just a DrupalCamp Miami organizing committee. Anybody have any ideas for the meetup this month? Perhaps someone wants to showoff a project they have been working on? Are we having it at the Knight Foundation again, and is there a date and time set yet?
Thanks,
Erik
PS- I think the DrupalCamp Miami is a great idea, it's just I would like to get more out of the meetups.
DrupalCamp Install Profile
DrupalCamp LA is working on releasing a DrupalCamp install profile: http://groups.drupal.org/node/72373
We should consider this for creating the DrupalCamp Miami website. We may want to add this to the agenda for the June 7 conference call.
-Hector
COD is another option
COD is another option: http://drupal.org/project/cod
From the thread above (http://groups.drupal.org/node/72373), it seems that COD is being updated for D7.
-Hector
Good thoughts, Hector. I
Good thoughts, Hector. I think the LA profile is a stronger option, but we'd need to research more.
I want to re-iterate what I mentioned at April's meeting. I'm prepared to dedicate my team and resources (including hosting) to building this website. Perhaps we can work with others in the community as well, on design or other aspects.
To discuss more on the 6/7 call.

Drupal camp in Miami
We definitely should do the bulk of the camp planning outside the meetups, so the stated meeting doesn't lose its attractiveness to newcomers.
I hope some of you can go ahead with either COD or the LA-developed camp module. If we want to spread Drupal we should use it. However, someone at the May meeting asked about using Eventbrite for registration. I can attest that Eventbrite is robust and easy to set up, if we needed a fallback. Used it for three events earlier this year and liked it quite well.

When
I'm a Brevard County guy, but I had so much fun at our camp this year I would love to attend yours too. Do you have any dates set yet?
DrupalCamp in Miami? Sweet.
