Would Mercury be suitable for me?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi

I've spent most of today oogling over videos and slideshows of what Mercury can do and how great it is/will be and I agree. I want to use it but does it want me?!

I am pretty new to cloud technologies (please continue reading!) what I am trying to create is essentially one website for an umbrella company (circa 40 pages and a nice openlayers map with a few more bells and whistles) this website is to (eventually) link to all of it's 60 member organisations sites (circa 200 pages a closer view of the map and more bells and whistles than the master site) via the calendars and other taxonomy and rss feeds. All websites will have the same template but may not use all the modules and will have different themes according to organisation.

There are a few other things I need to query regarding drupal functionality but essentially I'm asking will mercury be able to hold all this? I've read some posts regarding caching on multisites which could cause problems. But I am not creating multisites but multiple sites. As you can probably tell I'm still in the ideas stage and I might be completely down the wrong track but if someone has some thoughts on this I'd be really interested to know.

Good luck with the testing I'd like to be able to help! Sound like a fab project!
