Greetings Bay Area Druplers,
Our next meeting will be TUESDAY, November 27th, Noon-1:30 at 290 HMMB, UC Berkeley. Sorry to keep changing the day of the week, but I didn't think anyone would show up on Thanksgiving. This is the last 2007 meeting. We start up again on Thursday January 24th, and settle in to 4th Thursday of the month for the rest of the year (except September) BDUG 2008 Dates.
This month - Building and Maintaining Drupal Modules with Derek and Tao
I will lead off with a "How to build your first Drupal Module", which will be a a quick overview of Drupal's great extension system. Then Derek (aka dww) will reprise his excellent BADCamp talk on "Maintaining your Drupal Contribution". If you have ever been intimidated by the drupal.org module versioning system, Derek is the man who made it happen, and will make it all clear for you.
One of the joys of BADCamp was getting to hear so many great local speakers. If you saw a talk that knocked your socks off, let me know and we can see about having them present at BDUG.

Possible change in topic for my part...
I'm willing to do the reprise of the BADCamp talk, but I've got a new hot topic I'd like to discuss today. I'm starting work on making it so that installation profiles are packaged with all of core and whatever contributed modules/themes they depend on. There are a handful of interesting, unanswered questions about how this will all work, and I'd like to do an initial brainstorming session on them before I publicly post the questions and solicit wider input/votes. Hope that's ok with everyone. ;)
See you in a few hours...
-Derek
