*** Please RSVP here for the newly rescheduled meetup! ***
Hi everyone!
I believe this would be the first Tidewater Drupal meetup. It will be held on June 30th (a Wednesday) @ 8:00pm, located at Cogan's Pizza in Norfolk's Ghent neighborhood, which has free wifi, good pizza and a good selection of beer. Bring your laptop if you have one!
I've never organized one of these before, so please bare with me...
Rough agenda:
* Brief introductions
* What's everyone working on?
* Recent/latest news in your area of Drupal expertise?
* General Drupal Q/A
Other than that stuff, there is no specific topic. Please post a comment if there are any suggestions, or anything you want to learn/talk about.
Looking forward to meeting some of you local folks! Please let us know if you will be making it, so I can plan ahead if necessary.
Thanks,
Jack (jerseycheese)

3 signups so far.
Last call - anyone else plan on coming tonight?
Arriving Early (Hopefully)
Since I live a couple of hours away, I'm going to aim to be there early (in case of traffic or whatever). I'm going to wear an easy-to-spot Aloha shirt (orange flowers on a black background). ^_^
Looking forward to meeting some local(ish) Drupal folks tonight!!
Take care,
Eric
I'm tempted to come
I'm tempted to come, but it looks like turnout is gonna be super low. Do we think this is going to happen for sure or get cancelled? I'd hate to cross the HRBT (tunnel) only to find no one there.
hmmm
i thought i'd signed up again when it was postponed... i'll be there
Yea - Eric, I don't think you
Yea - Eric, I don't think you should bother. A couple hours is a crazy long drive. Looks like another low turnout, I don't even know if I'll be able to make it now, work is asking me to work some overtime so we can launch a site on time this week. Unless we get a bunch of signups soon, I don't think it makes sense for anyone. I tried :) Stay tuned, I'll send out the cancel message soon if that's the case.
A spot of driving doesn't
A spot of driving doesn't bother me much. I'm still game, even if only for a small group.
Final Vote?
I'm getting ready to leave the office (I've got some errands to run before the big drive). I'll be able to check in probably one more time (around 4:45 or so) before heading south. Would it be possible to get a final "yes" or "no" in the next half-hour or so?
Thanks everybody!
Eric - I am not going to be
Eric - I am not going to be able to make it, my job has me on lockdown unfortunately tonight. But if anyone else can, don't let my absence hold you back!
Check In?
If anyone else is coming, please do drop a note. (This is Eric's wife - he's on his way, but not far out. In 10 minutes, if no one else is coming, he's going to turn around before he gets farther down the road.)
It looks like it's going to be a no
Too bad we can't get more folks interested in meeting up...
Another day, then.
or so speaketh DH. He's going to head back to the barn. But hopes to try again, soon! -- Erin
Anyone up for trying this
Anyone up for trying this again?
Just wanted to give Jerseycheese props for trying to get something started. Been thinking about it and I think it would be great to have a group around here meet once in a while. I'm sure we'd all learn a lot.
I live in Poquoson myself, so if the tunnel traffic isn't bad the day in question, Cogan's Pizza is a short 25 min trip for me. Anyone want to try again? Maybe we can do a poll on Doodle to see what time and date is good for people. I'm willing to come if its a smallish group or large. I'm gonna wait for Jerseycheese before I suggest a date. I'd think a Friday or Saturday would be best, but who knows. Maybe in the middle of the week works better. whats the consensus?
Friday night works for me
Saturday also works, probably.

Middle of the week always
Middle of the week always works better for me (Tu-Th), after dinner/work hours (7-9) - but I could probably get to a meeting whenever as long as there are no crushing deadlines at work going on. Been a busy summer.
A Doodle poll might be a good
A Doodle poll might be a good idea to gauge interest and availability. I live in Norfolk and my time is fairly flexible...
