Hey Guys,
I'm new the the area. I started doing a bunch of Drupal stuff full time about 8 months ago.
I'm looking for a user group (or the likes) to discuss Drupal stuff and get a much fuller understanding of it all.

Howdy
Lee,
I am currently living in Boston, but plan to move back to the Chattanooga area right after Thanksgiving. I went to school at Covenant College (on Lookout Mountain), and graduated in 2009. After a lot of thought, I've decided to move back to the area so that I can be closer to some of my best friends (who live in Chattanooga), and so that I can be closer to my family (who live in S. Carolina, N. Carolina, and Knoxville).
I've noticed that this isn't a very active group, but I decided to join it a few days ago to start making "technical" / "Drupal" contacts as well as the huge social network I already have in the area. I am going to be looking for a job!
I am very interested in organizing a (several) Drupal meet-up(s) in Chattanooga. If we can get others on board with the idea, I think we should do it on a semi-regular basis ... maybe every month, or every 2 months, or something similar - and maybe even try to hold one before the end of the year, perhaps in early December. What do you think?
I have been working with Drupal for 1 & 1/2 years. While I'm not much of a programmer, I've administered several Drupal sites, and am very familiar with its backend framework, and have used dozens of modules. I'm also a systems administrator, and am currently working as an Operations Intern right now (before I move).
I hope to meet you soon after I get to Chattanooga!

Hey !
David,
Sure I'd love to meet up when you get here.
I've been dropping in at the PHP developers group here is Chattanooga, and the Apple Developers group too.
There doesn't seem to be any real drupal group here ATM, but with you it makes 2 !
I'm also trying to convert some of the PHP guys away from rolling their own all the time to move to the established drupal framework.
Once a month seems to be the timeframes for meet ups here in Chattanooga.
I've been working full time developing Drupal sites for a little over a year. Doing everything from theming, custom development and admining the sites.
I'm shortly going to open source one module I have for SMS/Short Code mobile messaging too.
Is there a way to get real email addresses to each other without posting on the forums ?
need to promote an aggregator feed to front page
You know of a handy module?
We met at the group meeting,
Rod
Count me in!
I work in Chattanooga during the week and would love to be a part of a Drupal Group there. (Are girls allowed? :-) )
Awesome!
Sparkle: Of course! :) Everyone counts, and it'd be great to get a group going!
Lee: Looking at your profile, I see that you have the contact form enabled. I'm using that right now to send you my email address.
