We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Today, I launched the very beginning of the drupalforlabor.org website. As a first step, I wrote a page to help union folks grasp the difference between free and proprietary software. Please have a look and if you have time to provide feedback, I'd love to hear it: http://drupalforlabor.org/drupal_gives_unions_control

Steve is helping bringing us together in real space here which should bring thing group to life more, and Eric Goldhagen or I will post notes soon.

Currently we're wondering, what resources for starting a union are there on the web?

Looking into my archives, Rand Wilson gave me this at some point:

Resource: Communicate or Die

I have a website, Communicate or Die, to bring people who are interested in helping unions communicate on the web together: http://communicateordie.com

Alliance for Union Democracy

They have this neat checklist of what should go on a rank and file site (probably applies to unions, too): http://www.uniondemocracy.org/AUDLinks/website%20guide/buildawebsite.htm

Matt Noyes, the editor and the main contributor, post a lot of materials about unions and the Internet. He also posts a lot to Communicate or Die.
