Non-software Project Management

Anyone know how to contact Mike Booth? He's a regular attender at our Boston meetings and I want to talk to him about this post. He said he's seriously thinking about helping with either Drupal Project or a non-software oriented, Drupal-based project management capability.

Anyone else interested in working on this? I'd love to see how quickly we could get some traction around this.

I came across this good post Project Management Module in the Module development forum. This directly ties in with one of my major interests, which is a Drupal-based strategic planning environment, including technical/SW-related project management. Something along the lines of BaseCampHQ or ActiveCollab.

--I'm not sure why this was made a wiki-page, so I'll just put my comments here. Please have a look at ProjectPier. I am the leader of that project and have considered trying to re-write the framework to either tie into drupal or be a drupal-based installation profile. I think there are already some available modules to cope with some of the functionality, but I think one of the biggest hurdles will be the permissions issues and the UI issues. I am working now on the next version to be released which will add more features and such. You might also recongnize me as the orignal poster of your link above =), so you can see I've been thinking and working on this for awhile. --rcross

I'd be very interested in helping out. I've been in PM for to many years

Mike Booth, checking in! I'm known as "mechfish" here and on drupal.org. You can also find me at mechanicalrobotfish.com . Or you can put up a random wiki page on g.d.o. and wait for me to find it. :)

My initial plan is to try and bite off some small chunks of the Drupal Project pie and see where I can get with it in my, um, copious spare time. I will also try to click on some of the handy links you've provided, above, to learn a bit more about the larger strategic-planning / project management picture. I'm not exactly an expert in the field...

Let me know if I can be of any help. I think there's a lot of good examples out there for simple project management, such as smartsheet.com.....
