Hi,

Please how is it possible to create 2 views on one page which would sort in the following way : -

  1. Enhanced Listing : a Teaser List
  2. Basic Listing : a Table View

A fabulous example can be seen at:

http://www.productionhub.com/directory/listings.asp?section_id=7&cat_id=264

I've tried Views Fusion and Views Union to no avail.

So much would love to make this work and immensely appreciate any reply.

Use Panels

Hi Lillian,

use panels, you can safely use the latest "Panels 2 beta". You enable all but the legacy modules of panels 2. The legacy modules are to be removed at some time, even though legacy views can be a little easier when you begin working with panels 2 - however, I saw the advantage of the new approach as it is more easy to find your stuff back especially if you have lots of views.

  1. So install Panels 2, enable all Panels 2 Modules with exception of the two legacy ones.
  2. Go to admin/panels and first define which views you need.
  3. Add these views and add some settings to them (if you are not going to pass in arguments, all of that can be done using default values.
  4. Go to the Panels Page setup at admin/panels
  5. Add a new panel page, if you just want your two views below each other, choose the simple layout with just one column and one row, or experiment with the other layouts.
  6. Give your panel page an URL (like with Views) and a name
  7. Go to the content tab and add content - scroll till you see the green icons for your views!
  8. Using the simple layout, add the first view, then the second right below it - play around with more complex layouts - you can drag and drop stuff around here, so that's very convenient, just press the save button below to nail everything in place
  9. Go to the URL of your panel page and voilà: one, two, three, x views nicely put on one page!

A little correction

Legacy views aren't being removed and are fine to use. It's just a matter of preference.

Ah! good to know

Hi Michelle,

how are you!? Oh that is good to hear. It somewhat seemed like it due to the note on the modules page: "this is provided for legacy use and should not be used in new installations" - I like the Legacy Views!

I think I need to change

I think I need to change that text. I had initially planned to deprecate it eventually, but there are uses for both variants. Instead I need to make sure it's easy to understand why you would use one or the other; definitely lacking in documentation there, for the moment.

Panels 2

liliplanet's picture

Dear PanAltantica,

Panels 2 is so beautiful! PanAtlantica, so now I've tried creating 2 views on:

The problem is that the 'Platinum Listings' are in table form and well, don't look that good. Ideally it should look like a 'Basic Listing', but have the Company Description below each table (only Platinum).

Have tried all the other options (list, teaser, etc), but somehow just cannot get it to look good and preferably with more information including a link to the Profile, etc ...

So basically the problem is that I need a view per user of the Platinum type that is a table and just below it the company description. Is that possible please?

Would most most appreciate any help and thank you.
Lilian
