Can someone please post a VMware VM appliance with Drupal working with Postgres, that us newbies can play with?
Additionally, all popular modules working with Postgres may be enabled in this VM. This can help increase a beeline for the unsupported modules to add support.

well I don't know if it's a good idea to install a ton of modules...
perhaps a starting point would be to create a VM with 6 different profiles installed:
Drupal 5.x
- With PostgreSQL 7.4
- With PostgreSQL 8.1
- With PostgreSQL 8.3
Drupal 6.x
- With PostgreSQL 7.4
- With PostgreSQL 8.1
- With PostgreSQL 8.3
All core modules installed
Contrib modules?
How about we put together a list. I don't think it's a good idea to add the kitchen sink...but perhaps if we can agree on a bootstrap of common modules (I'm thinking of common utilities such as Devel, Token, Pathauto, etc.
Long term I think while this is a reasonably good idea, it would take a lot of effort and time to keep the VM updated for new releases of core and especially contrib modules.
Instead how about simply
Instead how about simply supplying VMs for each version of PostgreSQL and a sample Drupal settings.php with username and password for said PostgreSQL instance?
