Good evening,

Can someone help me please??

I now understand how to create a static website..Can someone please help me figure out how I can add links to other content on my site to the 'front page'?

I have created content (pages) that I would like to display on the 'front page'. I can get info. to show up on my front page. BUT, the content can not be clicked on by the viewer.. It's just words, no link.. What can I do?

Thanks, so much, for the help.

There are many ways to make

There are many ways to make content appear on your front page. I assume since you want the content to be clickable, you are referring to node titles that are links to the actual nodes? That is a common form of clickable content one finds on pages.

Depending on your content and what you are trying to accomplish, the number of solutions is numerous. I teach an intro course for Drupal. I am offering three ways to learn what you are asking.

  1. a face-to-face class (next one won't be until late Oct, early Nov)
  2. a self-paced but facilitated version of the course
  3. a self-paced course that you do on your own.

Each version of the course comes with all the clicks you need to build a site that has different types of content, different ways to define site sections, how to create dynamically generated pages and blocks, clickable content on the front page, and more.

Find out more at http://planningdrupalsites.com/training - in less than a day, you will learn how to configure many features in Drupal.

Thanks Cindy

I'm pretty sure that the solution to my problem lies in the views module...Also, I have CCK installed.

Right now I have promoted 3 pages to the front page on my site. The node titles, as they appear on the front page are named '1', '2', and '3'..

Basically, I'd like users to be able to click on the node titles and reach the page that it is connected too.. But I users cannot click on the '1' '2' or '3' node titles at all..

Thanks again Cindy!

If the titles are presented

If the titles are presented via a view and you want the titles to be a link, do the following:

  1. go to the view and click on the title field
  2. scroll down the options for the field until you see the option to make the title a link to the node (should be the last option)
  3. click update
  4. save

that should do it.

Thanks

Thanks c. I just figured out how to get the front page that I created (in views, I think) to the front page. I went to 'site configuration' - 'site information' - then I changed the front page to 'node'..

Thanks again.

Good evening,

I'm sorry but I have been trying to figure out views every evening. My website is 'contactipedia.com'.. Please feel free to check out what I have done so far. Basically, I want links with titles and content to appear down the page. Id like to have about 50 titles and 10 pieces of content per title. But first things first...

So far, I have 3 blocks set up on my front page. I dont know what to do beyond using the 'blocks' option to create static and non-linking information on my site. I know that I need to use 'Views'. But its not clear how I can link it to the front page.. Even when I use the 'front page' option in 'views'. Can someone please help me set up one title and link on the front page of my site please? I'm sure that once I learn the method then I will be able to replicate the process down the page. I have hit a ditch in the road. Can someone please help me out?

Thanks.

Glossary Module

Femmebot's picture

Hi,
We have the glossary module installed on our site and for some reason, when we edit the definition of a term, the new definition does not show up in the roll-over embedded in the text (http://www.aceee.org/blog/2010/09/maryland-program-brings-energy-efficie...) but it does show up in the glossary itself (http://www.aceee.org/glossary/9#term426). Any help?
Gracias!
