Playlist Question: easier updating?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi everybody -

I had a question about playlists; has anyone worked on making it so that updating playlists can be done "in place"? What I mean is that, it might be useful for people to be able to add an item to a playlist without having to save the playlist (which then redirects you out of the playlist form). This could help data from getting lost because a DJ was entering in playlist items, but then accidentally closed the browser, hit the back button, etc., but didn't have a way to save those items to the database while staying on the playlist entry form.

Or if anyone had any pointers as to what bits of code would have to be edited, or what a module would need to do, that would be helpful too.

Thanks for any info/pointers!

There's a module called

There's a module called Editable Fields (http://drupal.org/project/editablefields), but I'm not sure how it will work with the station module.

On my site we use the Save & Edit module (http://drupal.org/project/save_edit), which allows you to save the node while being redirected to the same page. It's basically a "write these values to the database" button, which sounds like it could suit your needs.

Thanks!

Sorry, for the late response! Just got around to trying the Save & Edit module, and I think it works great. I think it makes working with playlists (and content types that maybe have similar workflows as far as entering data) easier to work with.
