Hi,

Drupal is HUGE. If you try to understand it all before you start using it, you never will. Just start by installing it somewhere and making a site. See where it leads you. I have been working with Drupal for around 4 years and basically I have been able to do anything that I wanted with it.

Not sure how to get started? Youtube tutorials are your friend. A search on "drupal tutorial beginner" just returned 50 videos on installing and basics for me.
