Views and Ahah Forms 1.3 released

I am really excited to announce the release of the work I have been doing to create an Ajax version of Views, by modifying ahah_forms and views_ui to work together . It took weeks longer than I anticipated, and required extending ahah_form.js and tweaking maybe 20% of views_ui, but I am very happy with the result. You can check it out yourself at http://demo.starbowconsulting.com/admin/build/views. The views_ui rewrite is available in the examples directory of ahah_form v1.2 (http://drupal.org/project/ahah_forms)

Update: I have removed the need to login to the site to administer views (some people were having trouble getting in).

Update: v1.3 released: Ok, I am probably just procrastinating reviewing my notes for friday's summit talk, but I have released a much simplified views_ui.module-example. The big thing I realized is that almost everything I really need to do can be done in the theming functions. Also, I have refined the ahah_forms.js visual effects and removed the yellow fade. This allows me to drop the two interface javascript files.

E-Commerce v3.0 has been released

E-Commerce v3.0 for Drupal 5.x and 4.7.x has been released. After many hours of work by not only the E-Commerce maintainers, but also some very helpful people testing and submitting issues. This is by far the best release we have ever had, and this is all because of the great work @dww has been doing on the project module.

Please visit and comment on the front page announcement.

Thanks again everyone.
Gordon.

Installation profile projects now hosted on drupal.org

drupal.org infrastructure can now be used to host installation profiles:

1) there's a "/contributions/profiles" directory in the contrib repo.

http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/drupal/contributions/profiles/README.txt?v...

2) there's a new Project type, called "Installation profiles":

two critical points i wrote in the README.txt:

How about doing a joint conference with Open Office in Barcelona?

Some of the Open Office Developers in Barcelona are members of the Catalan Drupal community also and let us know that next Open Office 2007 Conference will be held in Barcelona exactly the same dates as our Drupalcon. (By the way, I like the way they choosed Barcelona - call for locations, proposals and voting. We might use this methode next time?)

We are now talking to the OO catalan developers about a possible collaboration. My thoughts are that this would be a great opportunity to have two compatible open source conferences on the same venue from which everyone could benefit (shared costs for a greater publicity). There might be a drawback: the venue we planned might not be big enough for both events, so we might have to look for another one. That's not a problem but any other venue will not be as nice, suitable and cheap. However I would like to know what you think about it. What are your comments on this? Thanks.

E-Commerce v3.0-rc1 has been released.

After a lot of work we have now released rc1 of v3.0.

I think we have fix all the major bugs, and we feel that this is the best release that we have had mainly due the the new release system which has enabled us to do things the right way and release several betas and now an rc.

As long as there are no new major bugs we should be able to release a final version of 3.0 this time next week.

E-Commerce v3.0-beta4 has been released

Well we have still been working very hard to get the best release that we can.

This is the forth and final beta version of E-Commerce, and from what I gather the bugs have started slowing a lot, and E-Commerce has even dropped of the top of the list as the Most active project. E-Commerce has been there for about the last 4-6 weeks and so I think that we are getting there.

All going well next Saturday the 3rd March I will be doing the first release candidate.

Thank you all for helping test, and making this a great release.

You can download beta 4 from

Two Axis Grid Views Plugin

I'd like some advice from the group on how to proceed with a Views plug-in module I'm working on.

I've taken my work from the scheduling grid and, using the Bonus Pack as an example, created a working views plug-in that adds a new View Type. Working name is "Two Axis Grid".

The row and column fields are designated by their position in the fields group on the Views UI. The first field is row, the second is column. Any fields after that are placed in the cell. Hopefully this diagram will give you an idea of how this works:

My Questions:
