Spam prevention

We are currently using mollom to prevent spammers. This worked fine until about a month ago, when a couple of very invasive spammers somehow managed to get through mollom -- using complete and obvious garbage -- and post it 20-50 times a day to our site.

Does anyone have a best practices solution, or does anyone have other suggestions on how to beat spam?

We are running D 6.20.

I have a community portal where users have the ability to register w/o approval. I implemented Mollom almost a year ago and that has eliminated most of the comment / content spam. However - I've recently noticed an increase in account creation where spammers are filling their user profiles (additional profile fields for my users like bio / website / etc) with their spam links. I actually noticed this with some bizarre twitter spam that was linking to a user profile on my site... Not good - I want to get rid of this garbage.

All of a sudden I am getting lots of spammers using my Drupal 6.9 website contact/feedback form to send me messages containing strange links

I'd like to have provided a sample, but I can't because it fires off the group's spam filter! How do I add that to my Drupal website???

What are they trying to achieve by this? And what should I be doing to prevent it?
