Posting to inform the Australian group about http://eduglu.com/ it seems there is a lot of people within Australia that have not heard of this distro. Please get on and have a look as it is an amazing distro and shoud at least be reviewed when you are looking at an LMS.

@kylematthews is the creator of edu glu, please have a look and consider helping out on the project, which can be as simple as downloading it and having a play and reporting issues or your use to Kyle.

For this release, we've ported to Eduglu the excellent Notebook feature from Open Atrium, a Drupal-based intranet package. This is a great example of the power of open source development, that improvements to one branch of the Drupal family tree can easily shared and reused on another branch. Expect to seem more of this as the larger Eduglu/Drupal ecosystem grows.

Along with this major addition, there was the normal assortment of bug fixes plus small visual touch-ups.

The big addition to this release is a new site-wide dashboard that is customizable by site admins. This will help learners see at a glance what's happening on the site. Future releases will bring group dashboards as well as the ability for users to customize the dashboard(s) to meet their needs.

Also, many bugs were squashed as we prepare for our first beta later this year.

I've been working on a social learning site based on Drupal for the past two years as a student at Brigham Young University and am now working towards readying it for its maiden release into the world as a full-fledged Drupal install profile.

My goal with Eduglu is to:
a) Provide a superb out-of-the-box social learning engine to help departments, clubs, classrooms, and other campus groups communicate, collaborate, and learn with one another.
