Meetups for 2007
Let's do this!
I've been brewing something special for my new hometown... Makati!
Right now, I'm still looking for people who would like to help me plan meetups, events, or even ad DrupalCamp here in the Metro.
Our current affiliate for this Makati/Metro Manila event is Asia Pacific College.
Eventually, sponsors such as MTV Philippines, Gold's Gym PH, and many more will participate.

Found drupal few days back. I read reviews about drupal and looked at some sample working websites. I am not a fan of CMS cause I thought it would steal a lot of hardwork in your side. However, drupal has changed my perception. I love drupal cause it has lots of support leading to great api's. I am commiting myself in this community of great coders. I've been tweaking some of the codes of drupal past few days and love its model.
Hope I can create some funny but useful modules which I can offer to the community. I will submit my finished drupal projects soon..
Thanks Drupallers...

Our company will be showcasing Drupal as a knowledge management tool during the FOSS eGovernance Conference for LGUs in the Philippines. The exhibits happen on 7-8 March from 9am to 9pm. If you want to have a Manila mini-meet up, this is a good opportunity to do so!
I will be there together with our Drupal experts on a rotating schedule. The safest schedule to find us all is between 3-6 pm of Wednesday (7 March) and Thursday (8 March).
The conference site says Ubuntu and Joomla personalities will be there (but we don't know their skeds yet).

We'd like to know who is using Drupal in the country. This will help us bolster our business case for Drupal in the Philippine context. So far, we know of the following:
- Department of Health Portal
- Haribon Foundation
- Poverty Environment Network
- http://newsmekong.org -- A media NGO
- http://swapinitiative.org -- Art Gallery ito :)
Shameless plugs:
6. http://blog.couchkamotereviews.ph -- my, ahem, blog
7. http://digitalsolutions.ph -- our company site
I also know that UP Open University is using Drupal (an old version) in their internal site (for students), after I tried to convince them hehe. Incidentally, they also use Moodle now (shifting from an old, kludgy LMS called IVLE).

Let's start off by giving ourselves a goal. It doesn't have to be very specific. Right away I could think of this as a community of practice for Pinoy drupal users, so I suggest two objectives:
- To foster a Pinoy community of Drupal developers.
- To increase awareness about Drupal in the Philippines.
Yun muna. What do our other 3 members think? hehehe
