boa barracuda aegir octopus mysql root

The weirdest of things are happening on new 7.29 platforms, and not only there.
I've had similar issues in my localhost reported here:

I think security update is defective, there are several reports in the issue queue.
I have a critical domain pointed to an IP address in my BOA server.
I know that this IP works as I can ssh into it, run BOA scripts, etc.
This domain name and wildcard have been pointed at it for some time, more than enough for propagation.

Today I upgraded to BOA 2.2.7, and also upgraded octopus.
Hit a snag when upgrading BOA from barracuda up-stable, process freezed.
Rebooted server and it froze just before completion, could not clean so finally it threw error: Could not write, broken pipe.
Finally it went through after third attempt.
I am looking into server issues, but I would like to ask if anybody experienced same issues on upgrade.

Now to the question in the title:
could anybody give me some clear instructions on how to install new relic?
I know that I have to get a license key even for their lite version.

I cannot find a way to create sections in a site, like this one: groups.drupal.org.
This is not site aliasing like pulling up a home page from different aliases, that is an option in hostmaster.

I installed the most advanced platform available in BOA, 7.24, however I am receiving notifications about security updates and would like to upgrade to 7.26. How do I do that? barracuda up-stable won't.

So far, I have not published anything as I am still understanding how to manage BOA in a VPS.
I really have a pressing need to get started, my problem is that I don't know how to make sites visible in development stage.
I can direct domain's A records to my VPS and they go live, but this is not what I need at this stage.

For several weeks now I still have 10 outstanding Ubuntu package updates after running the "barracuda up-stable system" script.
I don't want to use the native "apt-get update" script because in the past it broke my BOA server and it was a pain to restore it.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

I've been using BOA for a year and it's been great except that I've never been able to create more than four instances on my EC2 debian instances. I've had to create new servers just so I can have more octopus instances. Is this normal for BOA or is there a way out of this?

I'm putting more accounts on the servers and having to create a new EC2 instance everytime is getting expensive.

I'm trying to use the stable Octopus installation script, but it fails.

At first, it produces some "sed: -e expression #1, char 21: unterminated `s' command" errors and continues.

But then it said that it can't connect to MySQL using the public IP address. It also complained about a non-existing directory:
