Finally structured content gets to Drupal

Guys, try out this module called PARAGRAPHS

It allows Site Builders to make things cleaner so that you can give more editing power to your end-users.

Instead of putting all their content in one WYSIWYG body field including images and videos, end-users can now choose on-the-fly between pre-defined Paragraph Types independent from one another. Paragraph Types can be anything you want from a simple text block or image to a complex and configurable slideshow.

More on how to use it here;

Drupal University Tour (Report)

The drupal university tour was a campaign we (solomonkitumba & benjaminkyta Drupal.org usernames) conducted across a number of universities in uganda including Makerere university Kampala, Kyambogo university , Mbarara university of Science and technology, Uganda christian University, Kampala international university, and it started in November of 2014 instead of October of 2014 like we had planned. due to the fact that the grant money came in later that we expected, giving us a little set back, which meant adjusting the original planned dates to fit into the university schedules.

This is my recommendation for those who are new to drupal (begginers)

Few friends and colleagues have asked me to provide them with a list of materials I used to study. The truth is, I did not study using any specific material, so
This is my recommendation

Do a lot of site building work focused mainly on using Drupal Core to its fullest and extending Drupal using contributed modules as much as possible instead of creating custom modules. Use Drupal recommended best practices.

Drupal: CMS and now a CMF makes it to the most popular PHP Frameworks of 2015

Its good news for Drupal ninjas as your popular CMS is now racing with the big guys. Since Drupal7, the CMS took a brave move and became more of a Content Management Framework. A few years later, it makes it to one of the top 20 PHP frameworks this year.

Not to forget that the second best PHP framework, Symfony2 has so components in Drupal8* This is going to be so much fun.

Kudos to everyone who contributes to Drupal.

I would like to know if there are any drupal events/meet ups to help mentor new contributions things like re rolling , making and back porting patches. I have previously been on one of the drupal core mentoring sessions that take place on the IRC channel #drupal and think it would be great to have such sessions aimed to new Ugandan contributers
