I am a former active duty United States Marine from Lewisville, Texas (in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area) that now lives in Independence, Missouri (in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area) and have been in the information systems / information technology industry for 20 years.
I have a number of hobbies that I am passionate about, one of which is martial arts and I try to learn as many different styles as I can muster to learn within the time I have to learn them. And, when I am not learning them first hand in a classroom I am still reading about various different types or differing techniques as well.
As for my career, I started as a Cobol and Natural mainframe programmer and have held a job in just about every major area of specialization within the IS / IT industry including, but not limited to, software development, website development, security, board-level PC repair, classroom instruction, networking, release management, configuration management, testing, quality assurance, auditing and project management.
I have two wonderful kids, one girl and one boy, that have completely filled my life with many joys. While being a parent is not easy it is certainly worth all the effort and I am reminded of that often with my kids. My hope is that at least one of my kids follows in my footsteps in the information systems industry, but whether they do or don't I will make sure they are both very computer literate. Both are very smart and will do very well at whatever they choose to do.
Some people say that I am a very complex person and hard to figure out most times; others say that I am as reliable and predictiable. No matter what else may be said the one thing that people agree on is that I am a driven person with high standards and expectations both of myself and those around me. I am not sure whether than comes from being a Capricorn, a Texan, or a Marine but whatever the reason I think that both my life and those around me are deeply enriched by this fact. Anything outside of this I guess you will have to find out for yourselves.
