Hey, I'm in search of a Sydney based drupal developer. I really like drupal and it's potential but i find it difficult to find solutions for specific problems. I have had help developing my site from a drupal developer who is based in New York but i'm not finding it too useful given the time difference etc. So i'm asking anyone who works with drupal and lives preferably in Sydney to contact me please!

Looking for a freelance Drupal developer (preferably in Melbourne) who can work with me on some reasonably small websites for SMB customers.

Need to have the following basic skills:

• Create Themes
• Create custom modules
• Work with myself, my graphic designer and the client to spec and price jobs
• Experience with 5.x and 6.x

Desirable skills:

• Flash
• Joomla (have one client already on Joomla, so this is not a major requirement)

infoMe is about to relaunch Don’t Tell, a street fashion portal for Australian women to discuss outfits, give opinions and read articles. Over the past few months we’ve received a bit of customer feedback that has resulted in a redesign and change of focus for Don’t Tell. We’re looking for a Drupal developer to quickly complete the tasks that remain for the launching the new design of Don’t Tell on the Drupal platform.

ps. I've got a thread running at my site which I think this may be a part issue to it. As you can imagine it's becoming very confusing as all I see is either unicode or Chinese symbols (can't read Chinese).

I hope this is the right area for this question which refers to the 'thread' field of the table 'comments'. I provide a non php solution to convert Wordpress data to Drupal. I recently became aware that the thread field is not a string of decimal numbers but is in fact a string of base 36 (Vancode) numbers. I've created the necessary functions to convert to and from base 36 format but I'm a little confused re - the leading digit/character.

I need some help upgrading some websites from Drupal 4 to 6--I've been locked out, as the password is no longer recognised. This is a recognised problem. See http://drupal.org/node/105114 and my comments in there.

I've been a little out of the loop lately, but it IS the second Tuesday of the month - our traditional meet up date at the Railway. If we have people visiting Melbourne for the Lullabot training stop by and say hello. There is no formal agenda other than to meet and share a drink.

We built a handful of sites in drupal last year and the developer that worked for us has left. We don’t have anyone else who knows this stuff so we need the services of someone that can assist when we have additions/problems with the sites on an ongoing basis.

We are really looking for someone that knows Drupal really well so if any issues arise they can be rectified as quickly as possible.

I am new to Drupal and am impressed with the scope of what it can do. One of my targets in my job this year is to set up a content management system (namely Drupal) that can accommodate up to about 10 predesigned website templates. So that we can relatively quickly produce professional websites via the system.

That's right - come and get it!

I'm not sure how when this change might've been put in place, but I seem to have noticed the other day that the Sydney Group seems to have been either removed or restricted in some way. Its not listed in the groups list any more and i get an access denied when trying to access it.

Anyone know what happened there?

The rumours are true! From April 7th to 11th, the team from Lullabot will be in town conducting a week of workshops. We'll kick off the week with three days of theming and jQuery. We'll round out the week with a two day intense look at APIs and module development. As usual, you can register for both workshops and save. We are a Christian church, and our current web site (www.cai.org) is a standalone HTML/CSS site that was created by volunteers about 6 years ago and we are undertaking a major project to redesign it and migrate it into Drupal.

All design and development is being done in-house. We require advice from an experienced Drupal architect who can direct us in the correct way to fulfill our objectives with Drupal.

We are looking for somebody who knows both Second Life as well as Drupal to be a part-time webmaster for the metanomics.net site. Metanomics is a prestigious weekly show about the metaverse and its impact on business and society hosted by Robert Bloomfield of Cornell University. It has been written-up in the Wall Street Journal and is the definitive show about this topic. This doesn't pay a lot, but also won't require too much time for a knowledgable webmaster. It is a great opportunity to work with some of the top thinkers in the metaverse.

I am pleased to announce that the next large gathering of Drupalers will be held in Sydney, Australia from May 18th - 22nd 2008 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center Darling Harbor in conjunction with the Open CeBIT expo and conference. We're inviting people from all over the region - and that means you!

The conference will feature dual tracks over 3 days and a single theatre over a day and half that will also be open to the broader Open CeBIT audience. We are partnering with the Joomla community to host a website building contest which will be prominently highlighted at the OpenCeBIT Conference. All attendees will be provided free entry to the CeBIT expo (20th - 22nd) and offered discounted tickets to the Open CeBIT conference. We will also be hosting a booth as part of the CeBIT Exhibition to educate and promote Drupal to businesses, government, and individual attendees of the exhibition.

I just heard on the lullabot podcast #53 that lullabot is going to Melbourne to run training sessions in April 2008.

With the Drupal Mini Conf after Linux Conference Australia, and Lonely Planet launching their drupal development in Melbourne, it seems like Melbourne is shaping up to be the “Drupal Capital” of the Southern hemisphere.

Hi all, I'm a Coffs Harbour-based Drupal developer - actually the Coffs Harbour-based Drupal developer, and I'll be coming to Melbourne for the mini-conf on Sunday. Because of the weird economics of interstate travel, I'll actually be in town from Saturday to Tuesday morning, so while I'm there I'd like to make the most of the opportunity to meet other Drupallers and free software people generally, and get some kind of idea of the state of the industry outside of my little bubble.

If anybody's got some time for a chat, please let me know - I'd really appreciate it. I get so lonely up here!

I need assistance in the configuration, customization & theming of a Drupal 5.x installation to replace an existing website.
