Need help setting Views exposed filter input focus
As the subject implies, I desire for usability purposes to set the focus to the first input of an exposed input field. I've searched and can only find mention of something like this:
<?php
drupal_add_js("$('#edit-name').focus();", 'inline');
?>But there no mention of where to put it or how to use it, or if '#edit-name' is the ID of the input text box or the name of it.
I've tried putting the above in a custom module, in the page.tpl and others.
Obviously, I have tried several iterations and locations, but cannot find the key to open this lock.
Any help appreciated!
Forms Validation Help
I could use some coder help.
I have a page manager panel that displays a view with exposed filters for Location/Proximity and displays results of stores, along with a gmap for all resulting locations.
This works like a champ. The problem is I need to validate the results to make sure a zip code is entered, otherwise the result set is every store and the map takes a lot of time and resources to render.
I am trying to validate on the submit button, but it appears that the submit button is validated even before it is clicked.

I hope there is a simple answer to my question...
How do I set a file attachment to open target="_blank" instead of "_self"?
I have a file attachment on an article content type, but I see no way of allowing that to open up on a separate page.
Thank you,
Joe
Drupal, theming, templating, and some flash
Hi all,
I have a question that, without a doubt will make some of question my sanity, primarily since I am dealing with Flash. Ok, breathe...
I am tasked with adding a responsive site for tables and mobiles and an international (i18n) management platform to our web sites lineup. Currently, our main consumer site is built in Flash and and utilizes a custom CMS that everyone is familiar with (marketing ppl).

The High Performance Drupal meetup is meeting again on the 1st Tuesday of the month. Please join us at Droplabs, a Drupal event and coworking space in Downtown Los Angeles, on June 5, 2012.
We are soliciting speakers for this meetup. If you would like to give a presentation or see one given on a particular subject, please post in the comments below. Our meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, breakout sessions, raffle prizes and full-length presentations.
As always, we'll also have community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions, divine answers from the crowd and give brief, 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks. We'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark at 9:00pm.
The projector and raffle prizes for this event are being provided by Exaltation of Larks, a Drupal strategy, consulting, development and training company with a team of Drupal experts in Los Angeles.
About High Performance Drupal
What is the High Performance Drupal meetup about? The "high performance" part of the name is a catch-all to describe Drupal scalability, performance and benchmarking but we also discuss hosting, infrastructure, deployment, monitoring and highly repeatable processes. Also, this meetup has been held at coffeeshops in the past and the addition of caffeine makes our meetings feel as if they go faster and faster as the night goes on.
This is an meetup that focuses exclusively on advanced topics and there will not be a Users Helping Users portion to the evening.

I have been trying to get some local folks to meet up in the Temecula/Murrieta area and found that there are very few of us around this area.
Not knowing the level of expertise, availability, or meeting frequency that possible attendees would enjoy, I thought I would just show up someplace and extend an invitation to anyone interested.
I plan on going to the Temecula Public Library every Tuesday evening from 6-8pm in the Grace Mellman Heritage Room, or one of the private rooms if it is booked, starting tomorrow, 5/22/2012 and or a month or so to see how it goes.

Read moreDrupal Commerce
I just learned about using the Commerce Kickstart module/core install (commerce_kickstart). Instead of using core to begin a site that's going to use Commerce, you can use the module's tar/zip file that has core AND many of the needed contrib modules inside to begin creating a Commerce site, and everything comes out from the initial install. You have a working Commerce site ready for customization right "out of the box"! One day I'll "settle" down and just build sites, but for now I'm having so much fun exploring...

Suggestions to make Views Menu Tab content URL human readable
Using PathAuto and when displaying a node, the url is human friendly as in:
example.com/article/article-title
Now when I add a view as a menu tab to the node, the view path must be in the form:
node/%/premium-content
Where % is the contextual filter of "Content: Nid" in order for the menu tab to display next to the "View" menu tab for the node.
The trouble I have is that because the view path must be in this particular form, the url of the content when the "Premium Content" menu tab is clicked looks like this:
example.com/node/xxxx/premium-content

Read moreGlobal Accessibility Awareness Day on May 9, 2012 at Droplabs
Global Accessibility Awareness Day is a community-driven effort whose goal is to focus one day to raise the profile of digital (web, software, mobile app/device, touch screen kiosk, etc.) accessibility and people with different disabilities.
The idea started with a single blog post. On May 9th, people in communities around the world are encouraged to hold a talk/meetup, organize hands-on demos, or plan another activity that brings attention to some aspect of digital accessibility. Follow @GblA11yDay on Twitter and use the #gaad hashtag in your own tweets.
Droplabs is happy to participate in this global event. We will have both Dallas Legan and Larry Hart on-hand to present:
- Dallas Legan is a well-respected member of the Southern California Open Source ecosystem. He has presented on a variety of topics at UUASC, LAMP-SIG, the San Fernando Valley Linux Users Group, the San Gabriel Valley Linux Users Group and SCALE.
- Larry Hart is a longtime member of the San Fernando Valley Linux Users Group. He also happens to be a blind web user and will be imparting both his knowledge and frustrations of using a non-accessible web. We hope this will lead to discussions on how we, as web developers, can create a more usable and accessible web.
