We're coming up on June's SF Drupal User's Group meeting (June 9th, 5:30-7pm). As usual, check this space (and the comments) for location details and presenters.

And as always, I'm open for presenters. Celine - do you want to present some of your CSS tricks? :-)

theming...

not sure i want to pull random tricks out of my little hat just yet, but it might be interesting to discuss theming more generally... i'm currently working with a new(ish) theme developed by roople theme, which i understand is lead by the guys behind 43folders.com (aka merlin mann). and, i'm liking it :)
check it out: http://roopletheme.com/ & http://demo.roopletheme.com/ (i'm using tapestry on drupal 5.x).

i'm also looking into integrating more of the project management tasks into drupal, and investigating the workflow & project modules.

so here you have it - suggestions :)

finally - i started a google group for ucsf drupal users, any objections to my forwarding the group info to ucsf drupal peeps?

Hi, I'm a newbie to Drupal, and am trying to get my own group started as well as trying to learn how to use drupal as my main "web engine". I love this "tapistry" theme and am anxious to use it, but am still trying to figure out how to set up my pages. The reason I joined your group was to see how it all works, and because I grew up in that Bay Area, I now live in what we call Oregon's Bay Area, Coos Bay, OR. My main interest, other than playing music(guitar), is working on renewable energy, especially Hydrogen. My web site, should you be interested is at westcoastgo.com and my meager attempt at setting up my first drupal test is at /go-zen, and my blog is at /wordpress, I know I'm kinda splintered, maybe someone could help out a little. any way thanks for your time and energy, later, hp

Presenters and time update!

Hi all -

We'll push back this Monday's SFDUG to 6pm, to give Matt Cheney from Chapter Three LLC time to get over here and talk to us about Swish-E integration in Drupal. Swish-E lets you search through stored documents on your server (think attached files)....

While we wait for Matt, we can cover some of the Q&A around CSS challenges and tricks as suggested by Celine. And if you don't know about Zen and Foundation, then you'll find out! ;-)

Don't worry if you come early - I'll be here anyway.

As always, first 12 beers / sodas are on the house. ;-)

Just signed up for the event and got the confirmation email, but there wasn't any location information listed.

Will that be posted when the "reminder" email arrives on Sunday?

Thanks!
Jonathan

how to love smartly searching the fulltext of your attached docs

I will be presenting some information about the Swish-E Module (drupal.org/project/swish) and how you can integrate it into your site to allow users to search and find content present in the full-text of your attached documents (PDF, DOC, XLS, RTF, ETC). I can also answer questions about using other types of external data on a Drupal site.

Some of this material is based on a session I did at Drupalcon Boston about External Data (with Neil Drumm and Ken Rickard) (http://www.chapterthreellc.com/blog/matt_cheney/drupalcon_boston_bringin...), but there will be plenty of additional information and we can do a more hands on demo in setting up Swish-E and improving Drupal search.

Confirmed we are at PariSoMa tonight. Sorry about that - when I posted the updated info before I was out of town for the weekend, I thought I added the location.

Hi all,

Thanks for an interesting meet up - and I was really pleased my jet lag didnt kick in!
It's always great to see what others are up to within the Drupal community.
Our team (at MTV UK) will soon be launching a dev blog, so we can keep people up to date with the various things we are up to.

Cheers,
Alec

thanks!

It's the little things for the Drupal newb like me, learning about the love of Zen and the Admin Menu module make these meetings so compelling. Thanks to everyone for making this accessible to all levels. So much good stuff to digest.

Great meeting everyone. See you next month!

Jonathan
