Sounds great!

I'm interested in attending for sure! I'm too new to contribute, but I'd love to learn! How do I sign-up? Is there a fee?

Great!

rgs's picture

Will be great to see you there. Camp fees are usually minimal and this will be no exception. In the neighborhood of $20. We are working on a page or site for registration. And there are always lots of ways to contribute if you have the time. Stay tuned.

I would be interested in presenting or providing a clinic on Aegir - the how, what and why. Let me know if that's something you would be interested in.

NJ Camp Website

Cholly's picture

I volunteer to host and put up a website if the group has a registered domain name (please check the trademark rules).
It would be pretty basic and I would just ask for some copy and maybe graphics submission.

My time is bad right now, but

wizonesolutions's picture

My time is bad right now, but it might clear up some time before the camp. Who shoudl I contact if/when I want to get involved?

It's cool that there's a camp in my home state, and I expect to make it out in combination with a family visit...which will be overdue by that time anyway.

Have you guys decided on a kitschy name like some of the other camps have (e.g. BADCamp, SANDCamp)? Or will you just go with DrupalCamp NJ? I kinda prefer the latter myself, actually. I was thinking of suggesting JerseyCamp, but, living in California, I'm SO TIRED of people saying I'm from "Joisey." OH - what about GardenCamp or something though? Or GARDCamp (Garden State Drupal Camp, I guess - I mean, SANDCamp isn't much better!).

Anyway...that's my contribution...for now!

Sounds great!

Visit the site and post your presentation - www.drupalcampnj.org
And thanks for the link to the skit. Still fresh.

DrupalCampNJ Login

Cholly's picture

I have been having problems logging in to the NJ Camp Website. Request new password does not send email. My user and email are ok as I initially got the sign up receipt from eventbrite.com. My user name is recognized, but my email is not even though the request for new pass completes with no errors. I tried creating a new account and that didn't work either.

Anyone else having trouble with this?

Dan

We will look into this Dan

rgs's picture

Not aware of any other troubles but we will take a look under the hood and get back to you.

Ray

Hi Dan.
Your email address on DCNJ was listed as dva@tinymountain
I have corrected this to dva@tinymountain.com
You should have no problems now.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Rides for Drupalcamp NJ

pal4life's picture

Hi,
Any one travelling from New york city or queens and looking for some one to ride along. Would be glad to split the cost for gas? Feel free to email at onlinemarketdirect@gmail.com

Thanks.

re: Rides for Drupalcamp NJ

joebachana's picture

I am driving and have two open spots in the car. However, I'll probably be leaving pretty early in order to help the New Jersey guys set up their camp. Thus, if you want to leave by no later than 7:30am EST from West 57th Street between 11th and 12th, then send me a private message on d.o and I'll email back to confirm.

Riding to DrupalCamp NJ

tom_o_t's picture

I'm thinking about riding my bike to the camp - taking the 6:13am train from Penn Station to New Brunswick, then riding the 30 miles along the Deleware & Raritan Canal to Princeton, arriving in time to catch the end of breakfast. It's all dependent on weather, but if you're at all interested in joining me, leave a comment here or message me and I'll loop you into the planning.

Car space

wizonesolutions's picture

I've got a sorta-long drive from Middletown, NJ. If anyone along that route wants a ride contact me and maybe we can make it work. I guess I'll be leaving around 8 AM.

Let's plan car pools and train hookups for the trip from NYC to Princeton! http://www.drupalcampnj.org/content/directions-and-parking-information

"The Friend Center is located on the corner of William and Olden Streets. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Princeton train station (aka the "Dinky"). If you are traveling by car, parking is available in Lots 10, 13, and the North Garage. On street parking is also available. Please be advised that there are numerous events taking place on campus and that the parking lots may fill quickly."

It looks like the earliest NJTransit trip arrives at Princeton Station at 9:20 http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TrainSchedulesFrom

07:14 AM
Northeast Corridor #7821 Arrive 08:25 AM
Princeton Junction
Depart 09:15 AM
Princeton Shuttle #4219 09:20 AM 126 minutes

But we could probably share cabs from Princeton Junction and get to the camp by 9

I don't have a car, I live in West New York, NJ and I'm planning to catch the train at NY Penn Station (7:14 AM)
it also departs Newark Penn Station at 7:32 AM

There should be a dinky train

humansky's picture

There should be a dinky train from Princeton Junction directly onto Princeton campus if you don't want to take a taxi. Not sure what the Saturday schedule is like, but they usually leave every 15 minutes or so. Once on campus, then you can take a taxi or walk 15 minutes across campus to Friend Center. Here is a map:

taxi from Princeton Junction

virginiany's picture

I am interested in sharing a taxi. There may be an earlier train. I thought I saw an earlier train on the printed schedule but I know the
Web says 7:14. Let's meet on the platform there.

You can also get a bus from

pwolanin's picture

You can also get a bus from Port Authority that goes to Nassau Street- I think as little as ~2 blocks walk depending where you get off.

However, the NJ Transit and other bus sites are really unhelpful in terms of providing a listing. It's the bus that goes to Palmer Square in Princeton.

Operator Name: Suburban Transit
Schedule Details: Line 100

Port Authority Bus Terminal - Gates 417-419

Palmer Square Route/Trip
Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,Sa 7:00a 8:30a
Daily 8:00a 9:30a

I'm getting a ride to and

decibel.places's picture

I'm getting a ride from and to Newark, works for me!

Robbiethegeek said there are also people riding bikes from NYC - the Bull Goose Loonies!

Anyone need a lift from North Brooklyn?

ray field's picture

I'm probably leaving around 7:30-8 -- if you want a lift send an email to simonyar@yahoo.com

Kudos to all involved in creating DrupalCamp NJ

virginiany's picture

Thank you for all the effort and good vibes, nicely done!

Great event

fredfaylona's picture

Kudos to the organizers - it was a huge success. I learned a lot about Drupal and all the wonderful people using it. This was my first Drupal camp attendance and the 2.5-hr drive from Harrisburg, PA was well worth it. Looking forward to next year's edition, and maybe other iterations in the east coast.

Great event planning (and technical!) discussions

Ron Williams's picture

Thanks for the great event! Coming up from MD was definitely worth it to see how other groups put their event together. DrupalCamp MD will be using a few ideas for next years event.

Looking forward to 2013!

Great Camp

Cholly's picture

Thank you to everyone who put this together and made it happen.

Big Success!
