Issue Squashing - DrupalCorn 1Jun2009 7pm
Bring your issues and we'll squash em! The harder the better.
In the past, we have used our collective powers to help the community. Now it's time to help ourselves. Let's leverage the collective Drupal knowledge we have and help the most important relevant people, ourselves.
Bring your issues, your laptop and your thinking caps. We'll work as a team and drag ourselves up the Drupal learning curve. Don't worry about how simple or difficult your issues (Drupal issues only please) are, just bring them.
As a warm up, post your Drupal questions. And we'll get in the problem squashing mood.
That means YOU! ... just to name names: Dan, John, Travis, Austin, Dusty, Matt, Chris, Mark, Andy, Jeff, Paul, Isaiah, Bryan, Peter, Jane, Jon, Jason, Liz, Erica, Abbey, Your Name, ......

Picked Just the Right Date
Got no school board meeting (hopefully), no soccer, no baseball or taekwondo that night...it could work! In fact, I need to make a trip through Colo to pick up some parts for my RV. Perfect timing. With any luck I'll be there this time.

If you want to post any
If you want to post any issues you have for the group to squash we can get some advance time to consider them before the meeting. Please be as detailed as you can and include your Drupal version and any modules you are currently using to attack your issue.

New Issue - Small Problem with a 'Distinct' View
Next issue for the queue, perhaps. I have just posted a new Drupal site at http://wieting.TamaToledo.net (check it out) and I have a real sticky issue with scheduling volunteers to work at the theatre. But that can wait for the meeting, perhaps.
The immediate issue is that I have the site's front page displaying upcoming "shows" using a Slideshow type View. I created a "shows" data type (in CCK) which sports a date field that allows up to 10 "show_dates" (essentially an array of dates/times). I've specified that I want the view to filter only shows which begin in the future (show_date > now) and I set the view to display only distinct records. That's where the thing seems to break down.
One show at a time the display fades each show to the page but any show with 'X' multiple dates remaining in the future will flash by 'X' times. I had hoped that specifying "Distinct" in the view would remedy this. I even set the display type to "HTML List" and still the distinct setting didn't limit the returned records as I hoped.
Any ideas how to deal with this? Thanks in advance.

OK, I Have Issues
Thanks for the reminder Dan.
One issue I posted in the groups is still unresolved (and Michael was in the original discussion some time ago so...) and can be found at http://groups.drupal.org/node/5336. It's not a huge problem and I'm sure it's more server configuration than Drupal but if you guys want something to chew on and get the ball rolling... here you go.
Mark
I see a couple issues with your configuration.
Try this!

Fixed
Not sure exactly which step did the trick but I got my server configuration working such that the _drupal suffix is no longer needed. Got another issue now that I'll post downstream. Sure hope I can make it to the meeting on June 1... but it will depend on soccer that night.

ATTENTION: DrupalCorn Meeting moved due to Holiday!
I have overlooked the fact that our next meeting falls on the Memorial Day Holiday. I have moved the meeting to the following Monday, June 1. Please adjust your calendars accordingly.

Hmmm, was wondering about that. No matter... my daugther plays soccer in Colo on June 1 and I'm planning to attend so I think I can make the meeting (maybe a little late) unless the game goes into OT.

Just because I didn't send a reminder on Friday doesn't mean I'm not excited for tonight's meeting. I love these free form meetings. Bring your issues, computers and thinking caps.
This is the perfect meeting for Beer and Pizza! And Now that Black Market has WiFi, they can support all our needs. So let's meet at BlackMarket next door to IMed Studios.

We'll see if they can't give us some sort of discount. They should be an official sponsor in my mind!
The map they show (Google) poorly locates their location. They are close to the corner of Kent and NorthRidge Parkway.
This is also the perfect meeting for New Members as it will be very social and focused on solving issues. So, bring a friend.

Sorry
Sorry I didn't make it last night. School board meeting ran long and the soccer match was tied 1-1 until the 78-minute mark (we lost 2-1). It was already 8 PM by then and would have been 8:30 or later before I got to Ames so I opted to just head for home.
Hope you had some productive discussions, some beer, some pizza, etc. Maybe next month.
