What is a DrupalCamp?

DrupalCamp LA is the annual FREE unconference-style Drupal training, founded in the style of BarCamp, for the Drupal community in Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Greater Southern California Area.

We'll have a lot of very smart people in a small space who have all come with something to share and a desire to learn. Since this is a free event and on a weekend, we also get to welcome folks who can't usually take the time or money to go to commercial conferences - so it's a lot of fun with fresh faces. All levels from beginner to ninja are welcome, including from outside the SoCal region.

We set the stage, but all of you make this happen!

Since this is a free event and entirely volunteer run (and no, this is not our day job), we also expect active participation from everyone when it comes to running the conference. Please feel welcome to take an active role in making this a great event. We set the stage, but all of you make this happen!

Where's this going to be?

Only local images are allowed.DrupalCamp LA 2013 will be held in the conference center on the campus of the University of California, Irvine.

Current plans are to have five tracks with extra rooms on the side for community gatherings (BoFs). Large rooms hold up to 500 people, while small rooms hold more than 25 attendees with laptops. There is ample space in the conference center for lounging and discussions (with nearby outlets for laptop charging).

New this year is a PHP track, organized with help from the LA/PHP and OC/PHP groups.

Sessions and Topics

In true BarCamp form, our sessions are proposed by community volunteers, so start thinking about what you'd like to present. We'll have an event website up soon where you can sign up, and post your sessions. We'd like to have a dedicated beginner track, so sessions for people new to Drupal are especially welcome.

Drupal after Dark

Only local images are allowed. We're planning a Drupal after Dark party on Saturday night at the Anthill Pub on campus.

How can I help?

This is a community-driven event, and participation from everyone is welcome. If you have new ideas for DrupalCamp LA, or comments about things you liked (or disliked) in prior years, let us know or join us. Follow @ladrupal on twitter, and join us in IRC in #drupal-dcla

Hope to see you in July!

Thanks to our initial sponsors!

So far, we've signed up a few returning, wonderful sponsors!

In the Platinum corner we are proud to be sponsored by Stauffer & Kwall, both local Drupal agencies that do excellent work and help support our community. They're hiring!

Our first Silver sponsor for 2013 is Acquia, a well known Drupal Cloud Hosting Provider. They're hiring too!

But they're not the only camp sponsors. Their contributions and the contributions of others allow us to produce this event, but our community makes it happen!

Sponsor our 6th annual DrupalCamp today

Schedule

I'm changing the topic of my post and editing it. I have worked out a hotel and getting around in Irvine. So no problem there. All set.

The question now is WHEN the various sessions are going to be. I'm sure that I have signed up for things that are going to end up CONFLICTING when the times are posted, and I will have to go back and adjust everything. At this point, all that checking things off accomplishes is a "wish list."
.

session list?

Have sessions been selected? It still looks like all the proposed ones. Would like to know in advance, cause I gotta make some slides... :)

Schedule not yet published, but soon

I'm working on the schedule today. If you have more than a couple attendees who've picked your session (hint: you do), then we'll find you a timeslot. Better get working on those slides :)

Thanks john!
