How to become a member of LA Drupal

LA Drupal has an online presence in a lot of places but one of the official ways to become a member is by joining the LA Drupal group here on groups.drupal.org:

  1. First create an account at Drupal.org, which is the "master" site of groups.drupal.org. Joining Drupal.org will create an account on all the the other *.drupal.org subdomains.
  2. Once you have your Drupal.org account and have logged in, go to the LA Drupal home page on groups.drupal.org at http://groups.drupal.org/la
  3. Finally, click the Join link found in the right sidebar. You'll be a member of LA Drupal after confirming your membership.

As a member of the LA Drupal community, you can participate in discussions, post job announcements, send direct messages to people (via the "contact" tab on their profiles), vote on other member's posts and comments, schedule and RSVP for local events, and more.

Welcome to LA Drupal!

git clone from DreamHost kicking my butt!

I'm new to git. I own and have read the Pro Git by Scott Chacon. I can make repo's locally on my Windows 7 desktop and clone them. I can create repo's on my SSH enabled Dreamhost account and can clone them on my shared Dreamhost server.

For the love of God, I cannot clone a Dreamhost repo to my local Windows desktop! It is driving me nuts.

I have ssh keys set up and can log into the dreamhost shared server via my local machine within the bash shell, so my ssh seems to be set up correctly. But I cannot get a clone.

Prepopulating fields from user profiles on new event creation

Hi All,

I have a scenario that is baffling me and would like some help on how to tackle this with regard to Drupal 7

I have user role for which I want regular authenticated users to be able to schedule them for appointments (role = service providers). I want to have a field on the Service Provider's account profile in which the Service Provider (SP) can enter their hourly rate. Also, I have created a content type called "appointment" with a date field (based on the date module) so that anonymous users can schedule appointments with the Service Providers.

Coming to SANDcamp? Can you help out as a volunteer? Fill out the form below if you can help out at camp.

SANDcamp is organized and run by a small army of volunteers, BUT WE NEED MORE! During camp we need volunteers to staff the registration desk, keep all sessions start and end times on schedule and attending to various other needs. Help the organizing team maintain a modicum of sanity by filling out the volunteer form.

    Graceful response for unpublished node

I built an Ubercart site on Drupal 6 for a local company that sells vintage drums. Every product is unique, so they all get their own product nodes. When a product is purchased, the node gets unpublished. These guys have a pretty active presence on eBay, so items can stick around in Google or eBay searches for a while afterward, and these links can still get hit, resulting in an Access Denied page.

    Non-Drupal: Macintosh Email Clients

I am asking this question here because I see many Drupal people using Macintosh systems. I am not a Mac user, but a client of mine is. He is currently using Entourage (came with Office 2004, 2008) to handle his email. It has been giving him lots of problems and he wants to consider other clients, and possible Gmail. He currently has email on his domain, but that can be redirected to a Gmail account.
