That opened and closed while I was out of the country for a few days. Please note that I have offered to run a session on Panels 3. Of course, I'd love to attend either way.

Waited all year then blinked while out of town.

Any event video in the works for the doe-eyed Drupal puppies who got stuck outside in the rain?

Is it possible we have underestimated the number of individuals interested in attending?

This was a problem with DrupalCon DC as well. Drupal event planners from here forward need to bear this in mind. Attendees are the most important component of the camp. I applaud everyone whose efforts went into coordinating this event but I also urge everyone to learn from this wait list.

The local community is larger than we perceive. Interest is greater than in previous years, and growing!

When I first joined this group there were 135 members. There are now over 900, yet the venue for DrupalCamp has not changed.

Many of the people on the waiting list will be shut out. I'd like to see us, as a group, do better.

If anyone among us has some connection, affiliation or insight into a way to accommodate more attendees for the next event, please share it.

Also, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

It's not a case of under-estimating. We knew that the event would fill up quickly and communicated this to the NYC group. Unfortunately it's difficult to get a venue that's large enough and has the different rooms for each session at an affordable price. We're already planning the next Drupal Camp NYC for the spring, and are looking into alternative (larger) venues, so if anyone has any contacts at larger reasonably priced venues, please join the organizer's list (http://groups.drupal.org/node/27078) or reach out via the boards or at a meetup and let us know. While we still want to keep the community feel of the camp, it would be great to let more people join in.

I'd like to personally invite everyone on the waiting list to the Kickoff Party.

Even if you are not able to make it to the camp, please join us at the party. Many (hopefully most) of the attendees will be at the party, so it will be a great opportunity to network with the community.

Probably too late to hope, at this point, but last year I was unable to attend at the last minute due to a family emergency so I thought it was worth a shot at least...
