Please add Drupal Intro Installfest

winston's picture

Would need the main room for maybe 30 to 45 min for that. Doesn't matter which part of the meeting. This is part of our strategy to handle the Intro track for DrupalCampNYC7 (see http://groups.drupal.org/node/27100 for details).

Will work with tom_o_t to make a DrupalCampNYC7 blast email announcing options for Intro folks planning to come to DrupalCampNYC7.

Would like to see a slot done on Community involvement

Looking forward to the next meetup!

Maybe someone could talk a bit about the different ways in which users of various levels and skills can give back to the Drupal community and get involved in making Drupal more awesome than it already is.

See you there.

Pain in life is necessary. Suffering is optional.

FYI, the preview of this node on the group homepage is cutoff.

Installfest2: The Automation

I'd be willing to do a quick demo on how to automatically install Drupal with Drush Provision, and maybe also demo how to integrate such a setup into a continuous integration system like Hudson.

this meetup's ics info

The .ics info on this meetup is for the 12th, not the 11th. Can someone fix?

Food

I know it adds cost and hassle, but to go from 6:30-9:00pm with no sustenence, well, seems a little hardcore. Any way we could work in a break to eat food?

webmamma we eat at the bar after the meeting, but usually there are drinks and pizza at the meet up sometimes. I drink beer so that's my dinner that night if I end up making it.

Google Ad Manager

dankohn's picture

I'm available to do a 10 or 15 minute slot on Google Ad Manager, a very powerful (and free) ad serving solution. The Drupal integration (using this module) is relatively simple, so most of the time would be spent showing off Ad Manager's web interface.

Can't make it

Babysitter fell through, so maybe I can present this next month.

Intro

I found out about the Intro to Drupal offer from Tom and signed up.
I am new to Drupal CMS and I look forward to attending.

Last minute addition:

Managing News is a new Drupal distribution and productivity app by Development Seed that provides a custom RSS/Atom news aggregator, that allows users to create specific custom Channels for news information, and to e-mail links to colleagues for RSS feeds for those channels.

Feeds is a new version of the FeedAPI and Feed Element Mapper modules that will replace those older modules.

I am developing a online Managing News web site, where people can see a live demo of the app and try out its features. This will also include a forum where users can discuss the features and usage of the app, discuss the active issues reported for the Managing News app and the related Feeds module.

UPDATE: I am having some technical issues with my network at home. I will have to give this session next time.

Drush

robloach's picture

Regarding Drush craziness, we should add Drush support to Drupal Terminal so we can make Drush commands through the web interface too. Muhahahah!...... And then IRC Bot support too ;-) .
