We now have two events for the same day
We now have two events for the same day on our group home page.
The meetup event on June 30th is confirmed with Mansueto, and has been on the calendar for a few months now.
I really don't have a suggestion.
this is one ofthe reasons I
this is one ofthe reasons I was against switching the frequency of the meetups in the first place. similar to the pre-arranged schedule with Mansueto, the nice folks at house of brews have reserved our normal space for the last Wednesday of every month for as long as we continue to hold the event.
As for suggestions, I think we just allow people to make their own decision about which event they will attend this one time, and try not to let it happen again. I'll hold no grudges against anyone who decides to go to the meetup rather than happy hour.
It's still early in the month...
couldn't we see if one of the meetups could move back by a week?

I rather have a Beer
I prefer having a beer, unless the meeting can get back to the topic of Drupal.
I vote beer too.
Then again, I'm not sure if I'm registered in this county...
:)
This is most unfortunate
This is most unfortunate. While I feel very much that I am part of the drupal-nyc community, I don't follow all of the posts.
On another thread there is a discussion that may or may not be related to the fact that we have an oncoming calendar conflict. I posted something there.
I didn't realize at the time that I was addressing a question that was related to an imminent scheduling problem. I simply scanned down and put in my 2cents. The above is in no way intended to be be a snark re either Peter (winston - winstond) or Roger (zroger)'s efforts with related to scheduling or anything else, but I while I do very much feel that I am a part of the drupal community in New York, I don't follow I simply can't follow some things that closely.
I'm spending a lot of time writing a somewhat lengthy post that might help address some problems that may be related to how situations like this occur.
It's a longer post - the suggested solution is reasonably simple and is in a sense a technical fix. Because it is something that I think might be quite helpful, be helpful I want to spend some time writing it in a way that includes some context so it's becomes clear why I think this is a useful suggestion.
If the post that started this thread was intended to solicit opinion regarding which date would be preferable
I strongly prefer that we keep the Wednesday night Drupal User's Group meeting and move the social gathering. I could spend some time explaining why I have that preference, but don't have time for that now.
Don't worry Bob, we're moving
Don't worry Bob, we're moving the meetup to July 7th anyway, and keeping the social where it is. There have been discussions in many threads and on IRC concerning this, and we are coming to a resolution. It was also a question of availability at chosen venues. We still have a reasonable amount of time before any of these events come to pass, so don't worry, it will all work out!
Just confirming for anyone reading this thread
That indeed we were able to reschedule the monthly meetup to July 7th, so no more conflict with DrupalNYC Happy Hour.
So let's see big turnout at our next NYC meetup (last one before DrupalCampNYC8!).
Thx
I was sure people were working on stuff, it's just a matter of trying to get a feeling for context for a thread like this.
That's what the extended post is about.
Thanks for the heads-up.
So is it moved to 7th July ?
