Chicago's local community of various user groups focused on Drupal. Groups have meetings each month in/around Chicago. Please be sure to join our group if interested in posting or hearing about Drupal-related job opportunities in the Chicagoland area.
The Drupal Chicago Meetup Group holds meetups on various topics and networking opportunities. Presentations and speakers are aimed at a general audience, with site show-and-tells, module demonstrations, news and announcements, and question and answer sessions.
If you live or work in the suburbs, check out the Fox Valley Drupal Meetup group with topics for all users.
Volunteers in the Chicago Drupal Group also organize MidCamp - Midwest Drupal Camp. Drupal camps are multi-day events that can include training days, session days, code and documentation sprints, and social events. Held annually in March, MidCamp is quickly becoming one of the larger and prestigious Drupal camps due to its high level of speakers, content, accessibility, and attention to detail.

We will be having an Open Mic Style Meetup / Doctors office this month with a mix of Site Showcases, Lightning Talks, and Panel Discussions on site issues and assistance.

Harnessing the power of Features!
Features! The awesome module which allows you to export Drupal configuration to code.
"The features module enables the capture and management of features in Drupal. A feature is a collection of Drupal entities which taken together satisfy a certain use-case."
Features lets you export content types, vocabularies, fields, field instances and anything within the CTools Export API universe.
We'll be presenting on how to use Features to create pluggable modules for reuse on client sites, but also for multiple environment deployment.

Let's face it, Chicago only has so many days in the summer. This results in summer attendance for meetups always being low. We'll meet outside at O'Donovan's Pub which has free parking lot, outdoor bar, food, and wifi for a purely social gathering. We'll be hanging out from 6:00pm until about 9:00pm. This will be casual meetup at a restaurant/bar, feel free to order food/drinks, and join us for conversations about Drupal. No presentations will be planned.
