The team at php[architect] (who run the longest running technical journal dedicated to the PHP programming language) are excited to invite you to attend our newest conference: php[world] - Happening this November 10-14th in Washington, D.C.

We've successfully run many conferences over the last 12 years, our main one being php[tek] in Chicago each May. But we've seen how PHP has been evolving over the years, and php[tek] is really focused on the core/bespoke PHP crowd.

PHP has developed a number of large, but disparate communities around the various big applications and frameworks that have arisen. Drupal, WordPress, Joomla!, Magento, Symfony, Laravel, Zend Framework and more. We wanted to create a conference designed to bring these separate communities together and reunite them. A conference that is designed to bring the entire world of PHP together in one place, to encourage cross-pollination of ideas and sharing of ideals.

And hence the idea of php[world] was born, and a conference running tracks for all of those different applications, while having sessions also that should appeal to everyone.

We'd welcome you to come visit the website and see what all we are offering or follow us on twitter at @phparch for more updates.

We are also excited to announce our keynotes, which include three Drupal notables!

  • Angela Byron - @webchick
    • Will be giving a keynote about the efforts Drupal has been making to break out of its own community and embrace libraries from other projects.
  • Jeffrey 'jam' McQuire - @horncologne
    • Will present a keynote on how the Open Source Software revolution, with PHP leading the way, is making for better business, better government, and, he hopes, a better world!
  • Larry Garfield - @crell
    • Will be joining us for our closing panel session. Where we will have notables from seven different applications/frameworks all together to discuss, debate, and take your questions.

We look forward to seeing you in D.C.!

NOTE: To all the User Group organizers out there. We offer discounts to members of PHP or Drupal User Groups to attend. Please contact us either through groups.drupal.org or via our contact form - http://www.phparch.com/policies/contact-us/ and we can get you a discount code to share with your group!

This looks like a great event. It's very exciting to see a PHGP conference with such a strong Drupal presence.
