We are planning to hold some rotating meetings this upcoming year. We would like to continue a rotation between communities every few months or so. If you would like to host a meeting in your community, go for it!

We are a collection of Drupal enthusiasts from Eastern Iowa. of all skill levels that meet on a regular basis to learn, share the things we've figured out, and spread the good word about Drupal. May UIDUG (and friends) Drupal User Group meeting
The next University of Iowa (and friends) Drupal User Group meeting is Thursday, May 22 from 3:30-4:30PM in University Capitol Centre 2520D in Iowa City, Iowa. One hour of free parking is available if you park in the attached parking ramp. The meetings are open to the public - you do not need to be a University of Iowa student or employee to attend.

Consultants
Does anyone have any recommendations for local Drupal consultants? My new Drupal 7 site is running sporadically (sometimes it doesn't load, sometimes it is agonizingly slow, and sometimes it works just fine).
I am looking for someone who can trouble shoot our set up and come up with a list of things we can do to fix our specific problems (there are lots of sites with general suggestions, but they aren't working).
I looked around the site for a list of local consultants willing to do small jobs and was surprised not to see anything (I could have just been looking in the wrong spot).

Drupal 8 has been on the horizon for over a year now. It is currently in alpha and will hopefully be going into beta releases soon. For this meeting we're going to try to build something simple in Drupal 8 just to get a taste of what is coming down the road. There will be bugs. We don't know much about D8 yet, so this might end up being a collaborative demo and learning experience for all.
March UIDUG Meeting
Mark your calendars for the next UIDUG meeting – the Thursday after spring break! We’ll be meeting in 2520B University Capitol Centre in Iowa City - so everyone can try out the simplytest.me service.
Adam Delaney will be presenting on the highcharts module, which powers the charts on the new http://reports.its.uiowa.edu/
Mark Ahrens will be discussing a new module that has been written to use maps from http://maps.uiowa.edu on other Drupal sites.

theming help
Hey all!
I'm finally making a some headway with a more complex D7 site. I am using Omega, and have created a sub-theme. That went pretty smooth. I just have some formatting/alignment questions.
1) Main Menu. I am using Superfish so we can have cool drop downs columns. I have that working well, but I would like to have it centered in the menu region. Screen shot attached. I tried just making the region smaller and centering it more, but then it gets weird on smaller screens before it converts to the mobile friendly version. Is this done with CSS or am I missing something else?

All of these efforts, from each involved, are what encourage such a wonderful Drupal Community to keep connected from the Midwest and beyond.
