Drupal in Germany
This group is aimed at all German speaking Drupal users and developers. It is a central place of information exchange, e.g. regarding events in Germany, coordination of meetings, marketing and everything else related to the German Drupal community.
German E-Commerce translation
I've managed to completely translate E-Commerce modules to German. Translation is based on 4.7 and needs a one-liner-patch to cart.module (missing t()-function). So now I've got 9 gettext files and 1 mini patch I'd like to contribute.
After several hours of translating, testing and translating I don't want to create one issue for each file, so can I please mail them to someone to commit them? (gordon?) I doubt I should use the file attachments here. So please come by and help me to get this in!
My motivation is to get more German users to E-Commerce. Drupal with E-Commerce is a fantastic solution compared to other online store systems like osC, xtC, JOS VirtueMart and so on. Altogether we have to remedy some major deficiencies in E-Commerce, f.e. the incomplete tax system and some legal rules we have to implement for usage of E-Commerce in Germany/Europe and even more important for selling internationally (different currency and tax per language and the like).

Projektbericht über Drupal u.a.
Hallo zusammen,
ich wollte Euch kurz informieren, dass ich im Rahmen meines Fernstudiums bei der AKAD folgendes Thema als Projektbericht schreiben werde:
"Evaluierung der PHP-basierten Open Source-Content Management Systeme Drupal, ez Publish, Joomla! und Typo3 zur Verwendung als Plattform für ein Community Portal"
Mal schauen, welches CMS "gewinnt". ;-)
Wer nähere Infos zu den verwendeten Kriterien oder zum Fortgang der Arbeit haben möchte, kann mir gerne mailen.

Wo ist die interessanteste Anlaufstelle für Drupal-Entwickler?
LinuxWorldExpo Köln / Cologne 14. - 16. 11. 2006
Da sich vermutlich keine eigene Gruppe für die "LinuxWorldExpo Köln" rentiert, poste ich mal einen vorbereitenden Artikel hier auf der Germany-Group.
Und nun ersteinmal die Gretchenfrage: Gibt es bereits Ambitionen einen Stand im ORG-Pavillon aufzustellen?

Drupal Deutschland e.V.?
Sollen wir (14) deutschen Drupal-Interessierte nicht einen gemeinnützigen Verein gründen?
Ich weiß, Leute denken (/1/) über eine internationale Vereinigung nach.
In (/1/) nennt Boris Mann schon einge Bedürfnisse:
- ability to accept and give out funds
- hold assets (e.g. servers and other hardware)
- bookkeeping to track funds and how they are spent
... und Ziele:
- attract more users and developers
- provide server infrastructure for related projects
- manage IP (trademarks, copyrights, licensing, etc.)
- fund developer meetups
Ich verstehe gut, dass die Gründung einer Drupal Foundation für das Gesamtprojekt gut überlegt sein will.
Regionale User Groups (eben ein Drupal Deutschland e.V.) sollten aber von dieser Foundation losgelöst bestehen und schon kurzfristig Bedürfnisse befriedigen und Ziele verfolgen können. Wenn die Foundation dann ins Leben gehoben wird, kann man auf eine vorhandene Infrastruktur und Erfahrung zurückgreifen.
Ich sehe nur Vorteile, jetzt über eine Vereinsgründung nachzudenken und nicht erst die Foundation abzuwarten.
