Long Island Drupal Meetup - November 18th
Our monthly meetup is officially scheduled for next week!
This month for our main talk we are excited to be taking a look at Drupal security with Warren Melnick and how to properly secure your Drupal environment. We will be covering:
- Initial setup including using apache and settings.php to move credentials out of the codebase
- User management with drush
- User generated content and splitting databases
- Roles
- Two factor authentication
- Secure password policies
- Deployment scripts
- Patching
Long Island Meetup - October 21st
Our monthly meetup is quickly approaching! With the exciting release of Drupal 8 RC1 there is a ton to talk about. At this months meetup we will be exploring some of the core Drupal 8 features. I'd like to dive into the various aspects of the system that will enable us to develop rich web applications right within core.
Mike and I are hot off of getting back from NEDCamp where we had the opportunity to provide a talk on Drupal 8 site building AND provide a full day Drupal 8 module development training.

Long Island Meetup - August 19th
August is a great time to build our Drupal skills! Come down on August 19th to our awesome spot at LaunchPad in Huntington and level up your web development skills with Drupal!
There are two core topics I'd like pose to the group. If anyone has any other topics we are more then open:
- Headless Drupal - With all the increased energy around building front ends out side of Drupal and using the Drupals powerful content modeling for the backend. I think it would be beneficial to explore a few ways we can accomplish this.
