A BOWs module would enable the specification of Data Sharing, Alarm and Event Management, Scheduling, Trending, Device and Network Management. How should we approach development for such a Drupal module(s)?

Progress?
Hi,
I'm Eduard de Jong and Work at Regel Partners where we are early adapters in BACnet. Also we are developing software solutions in BACnet. Wondering waht the plans en planning is for furthers development in Drupal. Als I'm interested what the strategic plans are with BACnet in Drupal.
Maybe this isn't the way but can I speak to someone who has a clear understanding about the goals.
Regards,
Eduard de Jong
I understand that there are
I understand that there are many sites that are using Drupal to build equipment maintenance and asset management systems and that the BACnet project is designed to provide an easy way to add real time data from a BACnet system to pages and feed performance trends into some kinds of analytics applications.
I do not have a Drupal instance here at Cornell, but I expect to be able to provide an example site and perhaps lend some help with its BACnet implementation, particularly with respect to scaling a site.
Immediate and long term goals
Hey Edward,
Presently we have the basic BACnet module for Drupal (d6 & d7) functioning and pulling data using BACnet web services.
I am an energy management/environmental systems engineer for Harris Integrated Solutions, Inc. I help manage hundreds of iwacs (interoperable web accessible control systems) installations. I expect we'll post the BACnet module as a contributed drupal module early September 2011. Its development will be managed primarily thru this drupal groups site and through www.big-d.info . You can see the core BACnet module (proof-of-concept) in action at this site. It is presently pulling data from an electric meter in a public school in South Carolina, USA, however we have just setup a new iwacs dedicated as a BACnet development server. BIG-D is organizing now, and has myself, a geology professor from Brevard, a graduate student from Duke University, and graduate student at Western Carolina University who are promoting student groups for the development of Energy (+) Dashboards using drupal. We are discussing with several additional colleges and universities supporting student teams to develop E+ Dashboards for their own schools.
Presently Harris, as a corporate (founding) sponsor for BIG-D, is funding the views enabling of the BACnet module beginning with d7. The plan is to test this through the student teams to seed development of additional features.
You are welcome to contact me directly.
Take Care,
Dave
Hi Dave
Hey Dave
