Problem w/ overlapping block

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I set up Images to cycle using Views Rotator, then moved the block to right sidebar top.
The Images overlap the top of the block beneath which is "Who Is New"...
I am just wondering what to do to fix this problem,

absolute positioning

Hey Kevin -- I think your problem is that all the image content in the "#block-views-pleaserotate-block_1" block has position: absolute, which takes it out of the flow of the document and allows it to overlap html elements that comes after it. To fix the problem, you could just assign a height to that block, like this, in your theme's css:

block-views-pleaserotate-block_1 { height: 260px; }

That'd do it, if you were reasonably sure that none of your images was going to get taller than 260px.

Thank You Ben

View Rotator

Hi Kevin,

I think that the Views Rotator module has some height settings. It looks like the images are bigger than the block they are "in".
Have you played around with the height settings? Does the block work correctly if it is someplace else on the page?
If I turn javascript off, I can see all of the images and then the rest of the blocks on the right.
Actually the block that is "behind" the rotating images is the "who's online" block.
I'd try moving the Views Rotator block to the bottom of the sidebar-right region and see if it actually renders on the bottom, or if it floats up.
Just as a diagnostic.

or, you could do what bdimaggio says above. In fact I think I like that answer better.

Hi Anne

Thanks for your help, I dont like the way it looks but I guess
its kind of a content driven site, which I suppose sounds better.
Like calling a pothole a pavement deficiency,...but somewhere
up the road I hope to try to improve the theme..I used the APK module which
has a Facebook style status update for member pages + Friending, so seems good for my needs.

I have a similar site at Ning.com and they started charging monthly fees after
being free for years... Oh Well

Thanks

Kevin
