there is a lot to duscuss... So I explained everything here...

I have run this routine on a couple flavors of linuxs... Debian 5, ubuntu 10.04 ( 32and 64).
in the baracuda file, I am only changing the email address...

Not enough memory
You may be running in to an issue with not enough memory. I had a similar problem at Linode.com on a 768K VPS with Lucid 64bit that was resolved by kicking the memory up to 1024.

I am not sure if that is the issue as I have experienced similar problems with a 1Gb RAM VPS from burst net. I assumed it was due to the non-standard OS image that burst net uses - however I believe it is more likely to be the non-standard VPS setup they have as referred to by the links omega8 has included. Out of interest how have you found burst net in terms of performance etc - just curious as I am thinking I might have to switch to linode etc as I have found the performance a bit inconsistent and flaky at times!!
