Hi Everyone - I just moved to the Cambridge area about a month ago and am quite new to Drupal. However, I am the founder and lead developer of the jQuery Javascript Library - which is going to be the default Javascript library provided with Drupal 4.8.
So, my question is: Would anyone be interested in hearing a presentation on the library, what it's capable of, how it's being used to improve Drupal, and how you can use it in your applications? If you're interested, also let me know what your level of Javascript knowledge is, so that I can gauge how I should present this.

hell yeah
hi john. welcome to cambridge - good choice.
also, welcome to drupal. you are certainly joining with a bang. jquery looks like a great library and is just the thing we needed spice up our CMS. thanks so much for writing it, and working with us to incorporate jquery into Drupal.
i will be organizing our next meetup for sometime in august. and yes, i'd love for you to be our next speaker. being a speaker involves giving a 15-20 minute presentation/demo of some kind and then answering questions. i think the demo can be relatively high level (features/benefits) and then the questions might lead us into gritty tech if the audience desires.
i'll be contacting you privately when the date/location becomes more firm.
also, how do i get one of those snazzy avatar pics like you and Steven have on this site?
Glad to hear it!
Sure thing! I definitely want this process to go very smoothly, there's a lot of people banking on the fact that it will.
That's fine - I could talk for hours, if need be, heh. I have some stuff prepared that I think might suit everyone well. I mean, simply knowing that everyone is (at least) a PHP coder and a web developer is more than enough to make for a good presentation.
Ha - well I don't know about Steve's, but mine was drawn by a designer for a startup that I'm working for. It's probably your best bet to find a starving artist on deviantart.com and get one that way ;-)
YES!
Would definitely love to hear about that...
Yup, interested
I'd go.
