Hi,
Sent emails regarding things but no response? I sent the Sponsor I had been working with (Microsoft) to the sponsorship page to apply as I had not heard anything from anyone at Marmalade Soul so they could speak to someone direct?
Really excited about this as I have been working towards this event and shouting about it world wide for a while now, truly hoping for a community event and not a dictatorship (as was so heavily discussed and raised last year)
Hoping to have the corporate/enterprise side represented. I have some talks to put up have not got around to it yet due to dealing with state rep duties and fixing some hacked Drupal code for my new corporate client (oh noes hacked Drupal) I will get these talks up this week.
Anything anyone want me to cover, or bring etc let me know. If anyone is keen for some Linux Server Admin Mod_PHP, FCGI or even IIS Fast CGI server side set-up let me know. Seems alot more people are developing on an IIS/Windows base and using LAMP for production? I have no problems running some work-shops or providing general advice on running these types of set-up.
Yeah Drupal DownUnder, and hats off to the Australian Drupal Community finally our vision we started talking about in Sydney with out First big camp in 2008 has come to fruition. I would have never thought when i was getting sponsorship for that camp that we would move to a national event in 2years, but then again i also never thought i would see so much community back lash to certain ideas. That all said, we live and learn and the journey is never the resting place but the steps we take on the way and the support we show for our fellow path takers ;)
Here's to the work we have all done over the past few years to build a thriving Drupal Australian Community and to help raise our profile on the international Drupal scene.

Who did you email as we have not had anything from you in a while? Directing a sponsor to the sponsorship page was certainly the correct course of action and the Brisbane DrupalDownunder Team have been in contact with Microsoft in the same manner as all other sponsors.
Thanks for shouting about DrupalDownunder — we're hoping that everyone is excited and is encouraging as many to come and be part of the weekend as possible.
Unfortunately, sessions submissions and voting are now closed (we blogged this on the site, sent out a tweet and sent out a Newsletter advising as such) and the schedule is going to be released tomorrow.
Glad to hear that you've been busy — not sure what State-Rep duties you're mentioning as we've not asked of anything from anyone since Christmas?
Anyway, I too will second a HUGE thank you to those in the community who are contributing towards DrupalDownunder and I'll slip in a BIG thanks to the Brisbane Team who are all working very solidly pulling together the final strings. re the emails that have been sent since i think around august re Sponsorship, anyways if you need to I can resend but im sure you have them :D I must admit it has been hard with the current structure of DDU for people/sponsors/supporters to get in contact with Marmalade Soul and have discussions about suggestions on how to make things better etc.
I know that people have expressed concern to me about this hence why I am mentioning it. All that said as I was informed by Jeff and yourself "this camp is bring run by the Brisbane Drupal Team our way and can be run otherways in following years". I think what is needed is a community BOF at the end of Drupal Camp to collect peoples feedback etc on how we can make it more accessible for people to be involved if they like.
A definete shout-out to the Brisbane Team and those who have added their help and time/effort over the past while. Now the ball is rolling, we can make its path smoother...

No, I haven't got any emails from you about specific Sponsors :( but it's all good as it's getting too close now for Sponsors to really reap any of the benefits (most of the print materials are in etc).
I know you have been frustrated with how we've chosen to run this but at the end of the day we realised that if we run by committee then not much gets done. We also realised with the running of DrupalCamp QLD that discussions can go on and on and someone just has to bite the bullet and make it happen. (I think that's the nature of committees).
We were very upfront about the fact that The Brisbane team will be making the nitty gritty decisions or heading up the relevant areas as they are the people who will be doing the ground work and making sure the budget all fits, calling around, defining the deadlines for the site, doing the grunt work to make it happen...
At the end of the day, someone needs to pull all the strings together and be the "buck stops here" person. We're certainly hoping the next State to run this will also accept that level of responsibility and we will willingly pass on the baton and let go of any input needed to make those calls as it will then be up to that team to pull it all together. That doesn't mean we won't support them, or do anything to contribute to it but if they decide that the best way to do it is to be held by flame-light in an open-air auditorium with folk songs written specifically about the beauty of Drupal, code and modules then more power to them! ;) (I'd love to go to that Drupal event!!)
We've really appreciated the input we've had and often taken on board other thoughts and ideas. But yes, at the end of the day, we've made those calls — based on the input of many. Not necessarily what some wanted but we can't please everyone and we accept full responsibility for the decisions made. We're certainly hoping it will all pull off and come together on the day. We're believing it will and that it will be an event that puts back into the community in immeasurable ways.
There are some great presentations coming up and we're looking forward to some fantastic days of code, design, css and all things Drupal!!

Not sure why you would say re sponsors? when i have three months of email conversation between us? Anyways i have to much hacked code that i am fixing for a international corporate in Sydney so need to get back to providing support for Europe sites and conversations have been already been had. Looking forward to seeing the money raised at this event go to the next drupal Australia camp as discussed and decided previously by various people in the community.
In regards to national events I think they are great when all are included its not really a national event if only people based in one location provide feedback or are not insulted or bullied when they have a differing opinion.
Please note that open source community's and code work because people are respected and there opinions and thoughts are valued. Drupal is a Do-ocracy and not a Dictatorship. Glad to see the Australian Community keep up the Do-ocracy community that makes so many people and corporates love our community not just our code.

Please note the above comments and earlier comments I have made regarding a national event I have done so due to requests that I have had from people to raise some issues. So the above is not intended as anything but feedback and well I would also not be doing the right thing by people if I did not raise.
Looking forward to as I suggested earlier a BOF or something at the DDU so the event can continue. Myself I am to focused on events in Sydney for 2011 and no longer involved in the DDU, but as everyone in Drupal Australia knows a national event has been at my heart since 2008 and I would like to see the event thrive and continue and grow from peoples input as it has done to get it to this point. I am but a small drop of water in a large ocean, but I am aware the ocean exists because of all the other small drops that make up the larger mass.
I know i get sentimental sometimes, but the Drupal community is not just a place i come to share information or code, but a community that holds some of my closest friends and also some people who i hold in the highest regard. Let it be known I am not at Drupal for the code, im here for the community xD

Folks often say of Drupalcon that the talks don't matter, it's the socialising in the hallways and in the pubs. It's about getting the people together to talk through their shit and drink some beer. Morten said in Paris something like "for fucks sake you could put a couple of kegs in the middle of the outback and call it drupalcon", or something like that, I was pretty wrecked at the time. I mean, I'm sure he would never swear like that!

Problem with registration
Not sure if this is the place I should be asking but am having difficulties finding definitive contact info.
Am attempting to register for Drupal DownUnder, but once I've filled in the registration details and attempt to review my order, Chrome gets stuck in a redirect loop. Refreshing the checkout page shows the following errors repeated:
Real name field is required.
There was an error saving attendee contact information. Please verify that you have entered all required fields at the Attendee profile contact information form
Not sure what to do from here, can't see any realname fields; assuming it's compiled from the info on the Checkout page. Am I missing something or is there something wrong with the rego form?

Sorry, If you would like to try and register again now, it appears that a change over the weekend broke the signup form and was not showing the correct fields. Before you get to the checkout page you should see a page asking for your real name, website, twitter (and some other fields that go into creating your profile on the site).

Proplem:Drupal Authentication with Active Directory
Dear all drupal members,
I have a problem when I configure Drupal7 to Authentication with Active Directory windows server 2003
and later than I log in to drupal by using the user in AD but I get the error messages:
" Another user already exists in the system with the same email address. You should contact the system administrator in order to solve this conflict.
Sorry, unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?"and I try to figure out but take along time I still not solve the problem, It make me headache...
I really need help from you all.Please help me!
